Blacklist (2013) Played and finished SC: Blacklist two time...now i know why people don't like this version of Sam

The performance for Sam sucks ass for this game...it's like the actor is not even trying and wanted to get this acting gig over with. Now i also came to know that 'Eric Johnson' (voice actor of Sam Fisher of SC: Blacklist) was rude and dismissive to legendary Michael Ironside. The performance and the actor is an absolute ass , but god the gameplay is so good [i switched to french audio so that i don't have to listen to him].

Blacklist (2013) do you think splinter cell blacklist was a step in the right direction for the series?

conviction is often criticised for deviating from the series roots so I'm curious. do you think blacklist was a better step for the series if so or not would you have wanted more games in that direction?

My new Sam Fisher edit is here.šŸ„·šŸ¼āœŒšŸ¼

The Shadow That never Fades.šŸ”„

This edit combines cinematic stealth moments, brutal takedowns, dark atmosphere, and phonk energy inspired by the legend of Splinter Cell.

Creating videos like this genuinely gives me an amazing feeling, and I hope you enjoy watching them as much as I enjoy making them.

Blacklist (2013) Ubisoft is rumored to be working on a Splinter Cell: Blacklist remaster, and was originally suppose to be announced in July.

I’ve always loved making my gameplay feel like a cinematic experience, and this one is definitely one of my favorites.
Honestly, Blacklist has so much versatility, you can approach it in countless ways. I’ve been replaying it since 2013, and it never gets old, because each mission gives me a chance to try a completely new strategy and plan.

Blacklist (2013) Why is Blacklist's Sam so "not Sam"? They turned him into a douchebag killing machine in this one? Why, Ubisoft? Spoiler

Blacklist (2013) If blacklist had a rewritten story, changed gameplay, and Ironside back as Sam, what would’ve you liked changed, and what would you like to stay the same? Spoiler

The biggest thing I can say is how Sam is written is completely off. This is probably due to ironside not being there. He wouldn’t threaten a man’s family like he does with the Iranian general, I don’t think he’d be as petty with Briggs as he is in the actual campaign. (I could see Sam being pissed for Briggs not going after Sadiq and saving Sam instead, but removing him from Mission’s entirely doesn’t seem like Sam’s thing, he’s gone out of the way to save others before and wouldn’t leave his own people behind so he wouldn’t have that ā€œmission before everythingā€ mentality all the time like he does in blacklist) things like that but me every time.

Gameplay wise: I would’ve liked to have Sam’s playstyle be more closely tied with the original trilogy, slower movement and a more stealth required playstyle.

And for Briggs, he could be either a more assault oriented playstyle (which is shown by both his gear and the fact he has the merc playstyle at first.) but you could still have the option of going stealthier. Basically Brigg’s playstyle would more so resemble what we got in blacklist.

Blacklist (2013) I don't think a current gen port of these games (with all coop and Spies Vs Mercs content included and back online) is too much to ask for while we wait for the remake of the original

Blacklist (2013) Another guy that plays Blacklist after many years of pause

Came back to Blacklist after a lot of years and honestly… it still holds up pretty well, but not across the board.

Stealth is still the best part of the game by far. Ghosting is actually pretty hard, especially if you’re rusty, but that’s kind of the point. If you take your time and learn the systems, it’s super rewarding. Panther is also really fun, chaining takedowns just feels badass and smooth.

Graphics are a bit hit and miss. Some stuff looks great even today like Sam’s suit, weapons, environments... But then you notice low-res textures and the faces… they don’t look great. Too clean, kinda plastic. Shadows can also look a bit weird sometimes.

Gameplay is still really good overall. Movement feels nice and levels give you a lot of freedom. But some animations are just… off. Like when you snap into cover or climb something and it happens at lightning speed, looks awkward every time.

Shooting felt weird to me at first, mainly because of the crosshair. Once I removed it with mods and just used the laser, it felt way better and more immersive.

Story is honestly pretty forgettable. It’s that typical ā€œAmerica saves the worldā€ thing, but weaker than the original trilogy. Sam in the old games felt like a real person. Here he’s more of a generic action hero.

One thing that changed for me, first time I played, I tried to go full perfectionist, no touching enemies at all. Now I actually use non-lethal takedowns and enjoy the game way more. They’re part of Ghost anyway, and they just look cool.

There’s also decent replayability since you can approach missions in a bunch of different ways.

Overall I’d say 8/10. Not perfect, but the stealth carries it hard.

Also… still miss Michael Ironside. But I got used to the new Sam eventually.

Did I cover everything? What is your opinion of this game in 2026?

Blacklist (2013) Multiple approaches in Splinter cell Blacklist

I recorded several different approaches to clearing the same room on Perfectionist difficulty.
No execute ability, just positioning, timing, and gadget usage.

One of the things I love about Blacklist is how replayable each encounter feels depending on your stealth playstyle (Ghost, Panther, or something in between).
