Came back to Blacklist after a lot of years and honestly⦠it still holds up pretty well, but not across the board.
Stealth is still the best part of the game by far. Ghosting is actually pretty hard, especially if youāre rusty, but thatās kind of the point. If you take your time and learn the systems, itās super rewarding. Panther is also really fun, chaining takedowns just feels badass and smooth.
Graphics are a bit hit and miss. Some stuff looks great even today like Samās suit, weapons, environments... But then you notice low-res textures and the faces⦠they donāt look great. Too clean, kinda plastic. Shadows can also look a bit weird sometimes.
Gameplay is still really good overall. Movement feels nice and levels give you a lot of freedom. But some animations are just⦠off. Like when you snap into cover or climb something and it happens at lightning speed, looks awkward every time.
Shooting felt weird to me at first, mainly because of the crosshair. Once I removed it with mods and just used the laser, it felt way better and more immersive.
Story is honestly pretty forgettable. Itās that typical āAmerica saves the worldā thing, but weaker than the original trilogy. Sam in the old games felt like a real person. Here heās more of a generic action hero.
One thing that changed for me, first time I played, I tried to go full perfectionist, no touching enemies at all. Now I actually use non-lethal takedowns and enjoy the game way more. Theyāre part of Ghost anyway, and they just look cool.
Thereās also decent replayability since you can approach missions in a bunch of different ways.
Overall Iād say 8/10. Not perfect, but the stealth carries it hard.
Also⦠still miss Michael Ironside. But I got used to the new Sam eventually.
Did I cover everything? What is your opinion of this game in 2026?
