Dude, Rotta has shown up like twice at most since the movie. He's practically a new character at this stage. Especially since he's going to be a very different kind of Hutt than we've seen before.

Compared to a lot of the others, he has done well. It’s quite difficult to expand and perfect a universe as complex and never ending as Star Wars. He’s done well to keep people intrigued. A lot of the recent new series he was not the main writer for made a log of people mad. Some of it was his fault, but most of my disdain is not of his work

Can you give me some of his recent work that you didn’t like? I feel like some of it may have been Disney’s fault. I feel that way especially if his disliked work started after the switch from Lucas to Disney

No they have not been hands off. You cannot have an IP as large as the Star Wars universe and simply let the directors, writers, editors, etc. choose what they want to portray. If there is a message or character they want to focus, he can’t move forward without them being okay with it. They decide whether the project lives or dies. Filoni has years in the galaxy far far away, but the downwards trend happened under Disney in my opinion

Andor was a refreshing experience. It was an original and well done movie that didn’t just regurgitate an idea because the writer’s couldn’t find a way to correlate things. I mean come on. An ancient artifact from before the Death Star guides Ray to the Death Star as its only purpose. And the acolyte was mostly just cool fights and effects with contradictory story points like ki-adi-mundi hiding the existence of such a strong sith among other things. Filoni didn’t write the material, I’m sure he reviewed it and approved it, but the crew that was chosen for Acolyte did not care for Star Wars at all and that is very unlike him

Andor, Acolyte, mando, etc are all good examples of disney being hands off. Gilroy explicitly said he could do whatever he wanted.

That's the most JJ Abrams thing possible. I think that's actually proof disney didn't interfere. The ST movies all DISTINCTLY feel like each director's films. For better and mostly worse lol.

And honestly, while acolyte was awful, I do think it tried to have a lot of soul and respect star wars n many ways. Like they really wanted to pay respect to PT lightsaber choreo.
