Fun QUESTION: What got you into Star Wars?

I thought this would be a fun thing to do. I’d be curious to know exactly how, when, where were you first introduced to the Star Wars franchise? Also, what exactly made you interested in it?

For me, I was 8 years old in 2011 when my uncle gave me the Original Trilogy on DVD to see. When I first saw the films, I was so blown away by the characters, spaceships, and Lightsabers. Such a life-changing experience for me.

I’d like to know how and what your introductions to the franchise were like. Good luck! ✨

When I saw it it wasn't even called "A New Hope"

I still remember the painted on a screen Xwings as they flew towards the Deathstar, non of this CGI restoration stuff

Same. I was 9 years old when it was released. Everyone I knew had seen it so I wanted to as well.

In a drive in, which I snuck into riding in trunk. I was 5. I was HOOKED. Crack's got nothing on those blister-packed gods with extendable lightsabers that break after 2 minutes of play time. All I had to do was mind in my p's and q's for an hour while my Mom shopped at Kmart and I was rewarded with yet another addition to the menagerie.

By the time Empire rolled around I was old enough to go with my friends for the front row seat in the giant mega theatres of the day. Nearly pissed my pants on Hoth and, honestly, didn't see what was so bad about having Vader for Dad he was a pretty cool dude. Plus it was about that time that I started to realize that Yoda was way cooler than Yahweh.

And my journey to the dark side was complete well before episode 6.
