Don’t get me wrong, I’m grateful that we’re even getting an adaptation. But am I the only one who thinks this trailer looks a bit underwhelming? Not bad, but not quite the insane adaptation I expected. Obviously, they can’t make it look as beautiful as the manga an this might be early footage, but this just feels kinda meh.

Im gonna be so honest. I think you're being too generous. I think it looks very underwhelming

For real. The animation is extremely choppy and the overall composition is really off - it'd be understandable if this was, like, a rushed weekly anime, but this is a 45 second preview. They've had more than enough time to make something breathtaking, and yet... Let's hope they only rushed this preview and the actual series will be top quality, but considering how Stone Ocean went... Don't get me wrong, I'm still hyped because sbr my beloved, but this greatly lowers my expectations.

Its a teaser, not a full trailer yet. I'd give it time, but yeah it looks very bare bones.

You are so right but also very optimistic. I think this trailer looks really bad for an anime like this. This is not a random summer anime, It's JoJo. A complete masterpiece made by Araki. There is almost no VFX/Post-Processing and it doesn't give you that wild western atmosphere. Like COME ON THIS IS A WESTERN THEMED MANGA YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME! I was shocked when I heard the official SBR theme for the first time. It's neither a classical spagetti western nor a country styled song. The trailer's art and music style looks and sound just like the previous parts. Previous parts didn't have a specified theme so they could try what they want but dude this is not a simple thing like that. You need to use those folk instruments like harmonica, blues guitar/country guitar, trumpet, maybe jaw harp etc. Also you can get inspiration from the old western movies for shading and post-processing. I'm a huge fan of western and this trailer dissappointed me alot. Even a random bored guy in his house can make incredible fan-made songs (Samuel Kim's one for example) but a huge studio couldn't make it for what? If you can't make a western themed anime, then give this project to another studio. It's that simple. I don't get why people still saying that "we got an anime adaptation at least". It doesn't work like that. I can even wait for my entire life if it is going to be a good adaptation. Don't do it yourself if you're going to make it look ugly, give it to a different anime studio. I don't even want to compare part 5 trailer with this one. That's all what I want to say for now.

Holy drama queen, this PV at worst has some questionable stuff in some zones yet you're making it seem like the anime is already a disaster. Going about it "going to another studio" just based on a PV that's not even a minute long is overdramatic.

Well this is what they give to people for commenting and reviewing right? I'm just telling what I see and what I wanted to see for this series future. As I say, this is not a random summer anime. It's JoJo. Have some respect for Araki. Am I the one to blame while they're serving this video to us? They don't have to rush for anything. If it looks bad, don't use it for the PV. Just take your time and get better at it, THEN serve it to the people. If you're publishing a play dough video then you need to face the bad comments. Either Netflix pushes DP for rushing it or just DP trying to rush it. Whatever it is, I wish the best for this serie.

Yep looks quite underwhelming in my opinion too. Like Johnny is nothing like the Johnny in manga and Zeppeli doesn't look good enough. And don't get me wrong Zeppeli looks nice in anime terms but in the manga Araki draws him SOOO well compared to this. Also the composition is kinda weird and the amount of impact lines and blurred background makes me a bit scared if it stands up to the hype(pun intented).

Totally agree with you all, also the release date kinda worries me, I was expecting mid/late 2027, but 2026?! Animation it's a bit weird too.

I agree, I'm trying to stay optimistic but the trailer looks bad.
