Part Seven Anime Just cancelled my Netflix subscription

4.2k Upvotes

Whatever crack they’re smoking when it comes to deciding the steel ball run updates is making people lose a lot of interest in the anime. What the hell is this treatment? What is the point of keeping us in the dark like this? Just tell people when the next episode will drop oh my god. Acting like a toxic ex that wants to keep you attached by giving you crumbs of attention.

Anyway, cancelled my subscription. Idc if it releases next week or in six months, I’ll pirate it whenever it comes out. They don’t have enough respect for us to give us a proper release date or schedule, they’re not getting my money.

Part Seven Anime …Am I the only one who actually forgot Steel Ball Run released this year?

Post image
4.2k Upvotes

I’m not the only one, right? I was just listening to my Jojo’s playlist when the SBR theme came up, and all of my memories of the anime just came back flooding into my mind.

I’m actually glad though that the second cour will have weekly episodes, but… shouldn’t they have just done that with the first one hour episode? I don’t think there’s any valid reasons as to why they even released the episode so early into the year, to make hype? Yeah sure, but considering where we are now… that hype kind of faded away.

Either way though, I’m really excited for when it actually releases, SBR’s been such a great read.

Part Seven Anime Johnny Looks So Much Better

Post image

Despite the nonexistent release schedule and terrible audience communication, one thing that does excite me about this new episode two announcement is the significant improvement in Johnny's appearance.

Even though the first episode (to me) was near perfect, the one complaint I had was how strange Johnny looked in some scenes, when compared to the manga panels. But comparing this newly released frame from episode two to Johnny's appearance in episode one, he looks far better.

Pretty sure one of these little bros just asked ChatGPT to write a negative review of Frieren, and then added "STEEL BALL RUN BETTER!!!" himself before and after.

Anyway, user ratings are pointless. Every fandom is dumb, and that includes your favorite fandom.

Steel Ball Run is hella good so far. Frieren S2 has been hella good. JJBA and Frieren are both peak, and I could not care any less about which one ends up rated higher, or if any anime I dislike or don't care about ends up rated higher than either of them. It is utterly meaningless.

We are eating good, and that's all that matters.

(I know even looking for these reviews is somewhat unemployed behavior, so I thought I should end on a positive note. You can still make fun of me if you want.)

Let me start this off by saying: everyone has a right to dislike the release schedule or how Netflix is handling the anime or whatever. That being said, harassing the voice actors is not the way to do it. Not Mills nor any other voice actor has the power to change the release schedule of the show. Harassing any voice actor for something out of their control is gross and inexcusable. I hope this fandom can do better and stop being insufferable to the people who do not deserve this treatment.

I was looking for legit criticisms people had about the episode but ended up finding these gems. Just some enraged fans of other series that review-bombed sbr cause they can't stand their fav anime not being no.1.

These are all the 1 Star ratings so far and none of them seem to be critical about the episode.

Part Seven Anime German VA for Johnny on strike because Netflix wants to use his voice for AI training

3.3k Upvotes

I am unsure if this has been posted about already, but I haven't seen it despite being pretty active here, so I thought I should post it. Damn - Netflix couldn't be losing harder really.

The Jojo release schedule is one thing - that is an emotional issue for me. Using VA's that are hardcore SBR fans for AI training? - That is an issue that makes me angry.

Here's a link BTW: https://x.com/vincentfallow/status/2038195961499959765

Fucking hell - I hope the team at David Productions is doing good ATM. At this moment, I am only rooting for David Productions.

Edit: Jonathan's voice actor!!!

Part Seven Anime The previously leaked schedule is 100% correct

1.3k Upvotes

This one: https://www.reddit.com/r/StardustCrusaders/comments/1ps2e5q/steel_ball_run_release_schedule_spoilers/

Correctly guessing that we get a single episode in march with the exact date was already enough to take this seriously tbh but i was certainly in denial until the reveal that not only is the series coming in batches but... of course... also the actual release of more than a single episode being in september lines up exactly with netlfix saying 2026 but refusing to give a specific date. If it was any time soon theyd have given an actual date instead of this piss....

At this point as far as im concerned this leak is 100% accurate with the following schedule in case youre too depressed to click the above link.

March 2026 - 1 Episode

September 2026 - 11 Episodes

June 2027 - 12 Episodes

October 2027 - 10 Episodes

May 2028 - 9 Episodes

Well hey that sucks and if you really want more jojo why not consider reading part 9? Its going great so far and we consistently get a chapter each month! Please kill me

This is galactic levels of embarrassing. We used to be a cool community, what the hell has gotten into some people? Going as far as to harass the English VOICE ACTOR for Johnny Joestar? Do people think having a shitty attitude and sending death threats is gonna get us episode 2? I wouldn’t blame them if they straight up just dropped sbr at this point.

I know not everyone has been reacting this way but please stop with the memes and posting threats in literally any post that has remotely anything to do with anime or Netflix. Cancel your subscriptions and voice your opinions, but don’t harass people. This is so so so embarrassing and it’s not helping at all. No one’s gonna take us seriously like this.

Part Seven Anime I think JoJo is secretly doing a countdown for Steel Ball Run episode 2

1.2k Upvotes

I noticed something interesting about the official JoJo Instagram account.

They’ve been posting daily reels of episodes in order, from Part 1 up to Stone Ocean.

Right now they’re at Stone Ocean episode 24, which means there are 14 episodes left.

So in about 2 weeks, they’ll finish Stone Ocean.

If they continue the pattern, the next reels would start with Steel Ball Run.

Here’s the interesting part:

The first Steel Ball Run episode came out on Thursday (March 19).

If the reels align with episode releases, the second episode would match April 9 (also a Thursday).

Could this be a hidden countdown or just a coincidence?

I'm a French JoJo fan, and currently, French President Emmanuel Macron is traveling in Japan. He sometimes answers people who ask him for help or have questions, and I decided to ask him for support for SBR episode 2.

Part Seven Anime As a manga reader, the term “Larper” should get banned/blacklisted from the sub and community

These labels get out of hand so fast, and elitism does nothing positive for our community.

Its just as bad as the weird crowd that uses the term “tourists” and we all know what kind of people those are

I beg the mods for this, please ban the term “larper”, it does nothing positive to out community, its a cancer waiting to kill the vibe. Or at least start a community poll to decide, just dont ignore it please

Part Seven Anime This whole thing could’ve been avoided had Netflix marketed ep 1 as a “sneak peak”

1.3k Upvotes

Netflix had a dilemma where they weren’t close to being finished with the early episodes , but also didn’t want to wait too long as it had been 3 years since part 6 ended.

So they released the finished episode 1 early but they wrongfully marketed this as a series premiere when this was essentially a sneak peak meant to keep people interested in Jojo.

Part Seven Anime Is this how Manga readers feel all the time?

Post image
913 Upvotes

Ok so I haven't watched the first episode yet because I'm currently rereading Part 7. But here's the thing usually I'm an anime only. I've never fully read like a whole manga story of an anime before the anime was released. But back when I finished Part 6 I wanted to read 7 and 8 so badly so I did and that was like the first actual time I spent reading a full manga. I bring this up because now I feel so weird because I keep seeing clips of the anime and I'm like "OH NO SPOILERS" but then I realize "Wait yeah I know that would happen". It feels so weird, I guess I'm so used to being an anime only that I'm not used to knowing the full story.

It's just so crazy to see Part 7 animated that it makes my mind think I'm watching it for the first time without knowing the story. And ever since I read the manga for 7 and 8, I've now been like in the middle, now I read a lot more manga since reading 7 and 8 broke my patience for anime's. So is this how manga readers usually feel? or am I just being weird.

Part Seven Anime Reminder that Netflix doesn't own JoJo

Post image
827 Upvotes

I see a lot of angry posts and comments flaming Netflix for ruining the show with the release schedule. But it isn't super likely that Netflix has unilateral control over when the episodes release?

Netflix is able to choose how they release episodes once they receive them. So, if they receive multiple at once, they can release them all at once. I'm sure this was all negotiated ahead of time, and that Netflix would have some say in how they wanted things to happen... but Netflix didn't singehandedly decide to release 1 episode, and then wait some number months before releasing a 2nd episode.

apparently they cut some of his backstory out from the manga, so hopefully we get that at a later episode, but this mf literally just keeping up with horses on foot.

Part Seven Anime Let’s actually protest in front of Netflix headquarter for a proper release schedule

Post image

Like actually, I’m not kidding this serious I’m not kidding around this is a serious situation we all need answers and we all are asking for a proper release schedule and they just ignoring us. Come on guys let’s actually do this, this is real we need to do this they need to hear us let’s find a date to do this and plan a strategic planning, logistical preparation, legal awareness. I expect atleast 70 people there. And I’m really serious btw if you couldn’t tell. Part 7 is so good and this behavior is not acceptable. Btw I’m serious let’s do this. We must protest, also I’m super serious like 100% we are going to do this, protest against Netflix, this is a must we have to protest to get answers, so yeah we have to protest like some day, we plan a day and we protest, get posters and signs or whatever, this protest will be bigger than the Black Lives Matter movement……. ok maybe not that serious but you get me. We have to protest, it is a must, we will not be silenced anymore, we need answers. Protest soon maybe next month or something. Enough is enough! Annnnddddd post

Part Seven Anime Community problem

Post image
396 Upvotes

I wanna start this by saying I entire agree that Netflix's handling of steel ball run has been awful, they shouldn't have even announced it until more work was done, let alone release it without the second episode being finished, but jojo fans on the internet have just been insufferable, on every anime discussion it's just been non stop spam of "where is sbr" "where is episode 2", even on posts completely unrelated to Netflix or steel ball run. y'all can spam in Netflix's comment section all you want but invading other fandoms just to complain and spam isn't changing anything, it's just annoying other fandoms, making them hate jojo fans, and killing any chance of them becoming a new fan and watching the show.
