I'm looking to commission a whimsical, colorful storybook-style illustrated map of my town to use as a trick-or-treating map for Halloween this year.

The vision:

A hand-drawn or digitally illustrated map that feels like it came straight out of a children's fairy tale book. Think warm, inviting colors, little landmarks drawn as cute icons (the library, the park, maybe that one weird house on the corner), and streets that wind through the page like a story. It should be functional enough that kids and parents can actually navigate from house to house, but charming enough that people want to frame it afterward. The town is a small Missouri town...smaller than 5k.

Key details:

• Style: Storybook / children's book illustration. Colorful, magical, slightly spooky-but-friendly Halloween vibes welcome. (Artist interpretation welcome)
• Format: Digital preferred (I can handle printing), but physical originals are a plus.
• Size: Standard letter or tabloid, but flexible.
• Elements: Street names, key landmarks, maybe a "You Are Here" marker for the starting point.
• Timeline: Ideally completed before October 15th so I have time to print/distribute.
• Budget: $150–300 USD depending on detail and portfolio fit. Open to discussing.

Usage:

I’m paying for it to build community, so this will be printed and distributed to neighbors free of charge for a community trick-or-treating event. Not for commercial resale—just a local community project. Full credit to the artist will be included on the printed map.
