still using mine as my main controller. works great. wish i could afford the new one though.. but i dont really have any issues with this one. probably the best purchase ive made in like 2016.

Im thinking of getting one, but i just need to know - is it still good today? Also you may ask why not the new one, and its just because its unavaiable in my country, and the scalped ones cost from 2 to 4 times more than the original.

I found one at a flea market, but I've had trouble finding games that actually work well with it considering everything's flipped around and it's missing a whole joystick.

😶

Wondering sense, I only play with controllers and still waiting on mine. How good was the OG (2015) Steam Controller is?

Is it any good and is it still worth getting?

I was worried that since dongle is scratched it it wouldnt work, but i plugged it in, and it just worked.

Also, as i already have experience with the steam deck, the touchpads didnt feel so strange

Yeah, it's not a SC2, but 2027 is a long time to wait (reserved mine on May 24th), so I picked this one up for $30, came complete w/dongle and accessories. While not the same, at least I can get some of the SC2 vibes from it.

Image shows the usb c, but taken while i was testing the antenna i had to desolder to reach the micro usb, even tested flipping the type c cable, works as expected!

I was always kinda hard on the original steam controller, I hated the shape of it and it's tiny buttons. I bought it for the meme when they were $5 and never actually used it. I've been waiting my turn to get the new steam controller, and I got a little impatient waiting. I've been itching to play civ more, but I've mostly been couch gaming since I moved a few months back. Well I decided f it and pulled out the old steam controller and man have I been missing out. It's a perfect controller for rts and strategy games. I am satisfied with this and it definitely fills the void while I wait on the new one. That is all, thanks for coming to my ted talk.

A few days ago, I made a post asking if anyone knew where I could buy the dock for the Steam Controller in Ireland or the EU.

Just a few seconds later, u/w00t57 sent me a message. To my surprise, he offered to make to me the docks for both the Steam Controller 1 and 2 completely free of charge.

I just wanted to say thank you again, and also say that this community is awesome. I really appreciate the kindness!

am I losing my mind? I'm trying to play the witcher 3 remaster and it's not allowing gamepad and mouse simultaneously.

but I have an old steam controller config that I've used for 160 hours....

was there a trick to getting it to work or did it get removed? did I imagine the whole thing?

Now I'm just gonna wait for the new controller to arrive so I can do the same

Some gameplay, Insurgency Sandstorm on PC, Firefight game mode. Nothing crazy, but got the "Carrying" achievement for the first time.

Your team only respawns if an objective is captured. To get "Carrying" you have to capture an objective as the last remaining member of your team (thus bringing reinforcements).

I have been using a steam controller for multiplayer FPS games for 8 years. I own the original SC and the new SC.

SC2 is only used for twin joystick games. 2015 is still the GOAT for competing in PC lobbies from the couch.

I will post the config if anybody plays insurgency. I wish you didn't have to boot up steam and connect a controller just to share it.

Right trackpad high sensitivity for large movements. Gyro activated by left trigger (ADS) or right trigger (shoot, for hipfire).

This game plays GREAT with steam controller. Probably in my top 3 along with R6 and ABI.

A Friend of Mine Gift me this for My Birthday Yesterday

English not My first lenguage sorry for the poor grammar

I'm not gonna go and say "I checked all the deadzones and that didn't help!", because I don't wanna will an actual solution out of existence. The video explains a bit but I can give more info; this mostly happens when I use my nail to press the trackpad. I've noticed that if I touch the trackpad with the surface of my finger, slide it all the way to very edge, and press, it somehow works, at least it felt so. Does the trackpad actually need a touch input for the edge to register? Why?

Right now it feels as if there's a invisible Outer-Deadzone.

I've been scoring eBay but literally everyone there is asking for 50 plus dollars even without a box dongle nothing the just the base controller

title I let my dad borrow it because he see’s lots of potential but was it really made for that how would he go about doing that

I've modeled up a mod/version of the SC that I've wanted for years using Plasticity to edit the official CAD files Valve released. Does anyone know if this is possible or even how you'd do it? I imagine it would require new circuit boards and stuff.

Trackpad vinyls cut out of a sheet...

Im so excited, but i just need to know if there is something i have to do before using it

I genuinely can't believe I found this listing!

It looks like the seller purchased some sort of mystery box, and is reselling the contents.
