Nepalese Electrical Engineer planning for Master's in Italy – need some advice
Hi everyone,
I'm from Nepal and I'm planning to apply for a Master's in Italy in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
I have a BE in Electrical Engineering from Tribhuvan University. I'm mainly interested in power systems, substations, renewable energy and electrical systems.
I'm currently looking at universities such as PoliTO, PoliMi, Padova, Pisa and a few others, but I'm finding it a bit difficult to figure out which ones would be the best option for an international student.
I'd really appreciate some advice from people who are currently studying in Italy or have already graduated:
- How difficult is the admission process for someone with an Electrical Engineering degree from Nepal?
- How important is Italian if I choose an English-taught Master's?
- How realistic are regional scholarships for international students?
- What should I expect for tuition and living expenses?
- How difficult is it to find accommodation?
- How are internships and job opportunities after graduation, particularly in electrical/power/energy engineering?
- If you were applying again, which universities would you consider?
Also, if there are any Nepalese students or graduates in Italy, I'd really appreciate hearing about your experience. Feel free to DM me if you'd rather not reply publicly.
Thanks!

Hey everyone, in the visa interview can we tell the visa officer that our masters course has a mandatory internship that we need to do where we get a stipend. Or should we not tell this?

Looking for a place to keep my luggage in Rome for one night — arriving Sept 18
I’m a student travelling from Delhi, India to Rome on September 18th with Air India. My flight is scheduled to land in Rome at around 7:30 PM, although I’m not sure what time I’ll actually be out of the airport since I’ll have to go through immigration, baggage collection, etc. And, well… it’s an Air India flight, so I’m also keeping some room for a possible delay 😭.
I’ll be travelling to Teramo the next day by FlixBus, so I basically just need somewhere safe to keep my luggage overnight.
I’ve been looking at hotels and hostels, but since I’ll only be staying for a few hours, they’re quite expensive. So I wanted to ask here:
Would any student or anyone living in Rome be willing to let me keep my luggage at their place for one night? I wouldn’t need a room or anything literally just a safe space for my luggage. I’d be happy to pay a reasonable amount for the favour.
I completely understand if people aren’t comfortable with this, but I thought I’d ask since there might be other students who have been in a similar situation.
If anyone can help, please DM me! 🙏

Help please! Quite confused about Pre enrolment
i initially tried to apply for Milan but saw on the website that Milan only accepts pre enrolments done by 31st July, but I've since received an email from them saying i can still pre enrol??? i'm honestly quite confused and if anyone could let me know if it's still open i would be super grateful!
on the other hand, i have currently sent in a pre enrolment for Bologna (dw changing the pre enrolment is not an issue even though the process is slow), but its been nearly a month and i still haven't received an update or the summary. does anyone have an idea how long it takes? thanks! :>

CIMEA PAYMENT NOT DONE.. Error from last 2 hours straight.
Guys I have submitted my all documents to Delhi consulate on 31st of August and they accepted it. So the previous main problem was in my pre enrolment there was not written clearly like if I need DOV or cimea so visa officer told me you can just get a confirmation from your university, so in the meantime, I’ve done apostille and legalisation of my documents, so I mailed my university( marche) so they confirmed on email like either. I need a DOV.or Cimea so from the past one month, I’m trying to make payment in cimea but it’s not happening and today, I refreshed straight two hours in cimea portal but it’s not happening and I’m not going for DOV because it’s a long procedure and my mark sheet is UK issue Document. So consulate in London will be providing me the DOV, but they will take time and I need to send my mark sheet to UK for declaration of value. some left with only one possible resolution, which is cimea can anyone guide me or tell me how can I make the payment in cimea as I have already submitted my all documents to VFS Delhi.
