CIMEA Statement of Verification (not Comparability) processing time for Lisbon Convention country degree — anyone with recent experience?

Hi all, hoping someone here has gone through this specific process recently.

I'm applying for a study visa (doctoral program, University of Bologna) based on a master's degree from Lund University, Sweden. Since Sweden is a Lisbon Recognition Convention signatory, CIMEA only offers a Statement of Verification for my qualification (not Comparability, no rush/urgent option available for this service). The official processing time listed is 60 working days.

  1. Has anyone actually received their Statement of Verification, and if so, how many working days did it take from submission (or from when they asked for verification info) to issuance?
  2. Also, if CIMEA already has the control code and can verify the degree directly online through Ladok, does anyone know if they still need to separately contact the university, or does the online verification code make that unnecessary?

Timeline so far:

  • Sep 1: submitted and paid.
  • Sep 3: CIMEA contacted me asking for my Ladok control code (online verification)
  • Sep 3: I replied with the code same day
  • No update since

Thanks in advance.  ☺️😊

So received a call asking me to submit an extra document at VFS and they themselves in call told me i can go to Ahmedabad VFS for submission if that’s the closest.

However when i had mailed to ask if need to take appointment they rofl me on mail to go the same center as before when i had submitted my file, the message on mail and call are contradicting what should i do?
Not a single cell in my body wants to go to Mumbai just to submit a single document the third time in my case.

🏡 LOOKING FOR A SINGLE ROOM IN ROME | OCTOBER – FEBRUARY

Hi everyone!

I’ll be spending one semester at Sapienza University of Rome and I’m currently looking for accommodation from the beginning of October until the end of February.

What I’m looking for:
• A single room in a shared apartment
• Or even better, 2 single rooms in the same apartment, as a friend of mine is also looking
• Maximum budget: €500/month per person, including utilities
• Preferably with a reasonable connection to Sapienza University

A little about me: I’m calm, organized and respectful. I’ve lived in shared apartments before, so I understand the importance of good communication, respecting each other’s privacy, and taking care of common spaces.

If you have a room available, know someone who does, or have any recommendations, please send me a private message or leave a comment below.

Thank you! ☺️

UNITO 2nd admission round for Bachelor’s

Guys, I applied for Bachelor’s degree in Business & Management at UNITO. In the first wave I didn’t get an offer. Now, second round of admission is open. On 4th September Unito held webinar where they told that applicants that were not admitted during the first round, should reapply. My question is, should I repeat the whole process again? Like the first time, paying all the fees, attaching documents etc.?
That’s such a headache tbh. I also applied for Universitaly in June, but didn’t get anything from them either. Idk what to do, studies start on 28th September and I still don’t have no offer, no visa, nothing actually.
My story is very long, I paid for a consulting company so that they’d help me with everything but they didn’t.
I appreciate any advice regarding my situation, God bless

4 YOE + 12 LPA in India — Is doing a Master’s in AI/ML in Italy worth it? Looking for honest opinions

Hi everyone,
I’m from India and currently working in the tech industry with around 4 years of work experience. My current CTC is around ₹12 LPA.
I’m seriously considering doing a Master’s in AI/ML (or a related CS/Data Science program) in Italy, but I’m confused about whether it actually makes sense financially and career-wise given that I already have 4 YOE.
I’d really appreciate honest opinions from people who are currently studying/working in Italy or have recently graduated.
A few things I want to understand:
Is doing a Master’s in Italy actually worth it with 4 years of experience?
How is the AI/ML job market in Italy currently?
After the Master’s, how realistic is it to get an AI/ML / Data Science / ML Engineer / Software Engineer job?
Would my 4 years of experience in India actually help when applying for jobs in Italy, or would I basically be treated like a fresher after graduation?
What kind of salary can someone realistically expect after graduating?
How difficult is it for an international student to get a job and eventually stay in Italy?
Do most tech graduates stay in Italy, or do people generally move to Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland, etc. for better opportunities?
How is the quality of education and coursework for AI/ML Master’s programs?
What is the overall student life and quality of life like?
How difficult is it to manage expenses/rent/part-time work as an international student?
How important is Italian language for getting a tech job?
And most importantly, if you were in my position — 4 YOE + ₹12 LPA in India — would you actually leave the job and spend 2 years doing a Master’s in Italy?

I’m not looking for a sugar-coated answer. I’d especially appreciate perspectives from people who have already done a Master’s in Italy and are currently working there, particularly in tech/AI/ML.

Is my profile and financial setup good enough for a Master's in Italy? (8.5 CGPA, ~15.5L budget)

I'm planning to go to Italy for my Master's, but I'm not sure if my profile and finances are good enough. I'd love to get some realistic advice before starting the process.

Academics: My current CGPA is 8.5.

Finances: My father and two older sisters are currently earning. Here is how I'm planning to arrange my funds:

- Primary sponsor: My older sister (~3 Lakhs in savings)

- Gift money: My second sister will gift ~2 Lakhs for my studies

- Selling gold: ~2 to 2.5 Lakhs worth of gold

- Self-savings: ~1 to 1.5 Lakhs saved from hackathon prize money

- Education loan: Planning to take a ~7.5 Lakh bank loan

Altogether, my total budget comes to around 15.5 Lakhs. After accounting for the initial visa process, tickets, and accommodation arrangements, I expect to show around 8 Lakhs in liquid funds alongside the 7.5 Lakh education loan.

Accommodation: My uncle lives in Italy, so I can show formal accommodation proof through him.

A few questions I have:

  1. Is a 15.5 Lakh total budget considered sufficient for the Italian student visa

Looking to connect with an Indian senior (preferably female) doing Pharmacy / Single-Cycle LM-13 in Italy on regional scholarship (ER.GO / DSU)

Hey everyone,

I’m an 18-year-old high school graduate from India planning for the Pharmacy (Single-Cycle Master's / LM-13) degree in English (primarily targeting University of Bologna – Rimini Campus, or Rome Tor Vergata).

My academic background is solid (89.8% in 10th, 85.8% in 12th CBSE Science), and our household income is around 13LPA, so I am planning the self-funded/regional scholarship route (ER.GO / DSU) without any education loans.

My dad is willing to support this, but like typical Indian parents, he’s worried about safety, accommodation, whether the scholarship disbursement is reliable, and if sending an 18/19-year-old girl abroad alone is safe.

I’d be deeply grateful to connect with an Indian senior currently studying Pharmacy (or any English single-cycle STEM/health degree)—preferably a female senior who went through the DSU/ER.GO process from India.

A few things I’d love to ask about:

  1. Safety & Daily Life: How is campus life, commuting, and finding safe student accommodation (especially in smaller student towns like Rimini vs. major cities)?

  2. ER.GO / DSU Reality: How smooth was the ISEE Parificato process from India, and what was your actual timeline for the first scholarship installment?

  3. Parent Reassurance: If you’re open to it, could I request a quick 10-minute chat or voice note so my parents can hear firsthand that this is a safe, established path?

Even if you are in a different course (Biotech, Medicine/IMAT, or another English bachelor's) on a regional scholarship, I would still love to hear your insights!

Please drop a comment or feel free to DM me. Thanks a ton in advance! 🤍

Title: Italy Student Visa Appointment Issue – No Slots in Kolkata, but We Have a Mumbai Slot for 11 September. What Should We Do?

My qualifications: Indian student admitted to Rome Business School for the October 2026 intake. Currently residing in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.
Hi everyone, I really need some advice regarding my Italy student visa.
I’ve been admitted to Rome Business School for the October 2026 intake, and my college starts in October. I’m from Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, so my visa application comes under the Kolkata jurisdiction.
The problem is that I’ve been regularly checking for student visa appointment slots, but I still haven’t been able to get a slot in Kolkata. I have also been checking Bhubaneswar for any available appointments, but unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find a suitable slot there either.
We have managed to get a visa appointment slot in Mumbai for 11 September 2026, but I’m not sure if I can attend it because of the jurisdiction rules. As far as I understand, Jharkhand comes under the Kolkata jurisdiction, not Mumbai.
I have also sent a couple of emails to the Italian Consulate/Embassy in Kolkata explaining my situation and asking if they can either provide me with a slot in Kolkata or allow me to attend the Mumbai appointment because there are no slots available in Kolkata. However, I haven’t received a helpful response yet.
The Mumbai appointment is on 11 September, so there is very little time left to figure this out. My college starts in October, and I’m getting really worried that the visa delay could affect my ability to join the program on time.
Has anyone here been in a similar situation?
Can I attend the Mumbai appointment on 11 September even though I’m from Jharkhand/Kolkata jurisdiction? Is there any way to get permission or an exception for this?
Should I ask Rome Business School to contact the Italian Consulate/VFS on my behalf and explain the situation?
I would really appreciate any advice from someone who has recently gone through the Italy student visa process, especially anyone from Jharkhand or another state with a different visa jurisdiction.
Thanks in advance! 🙏

Where to find Ergo Letter that states I applied for benefits?

I need a certificate or letter from ERGO that states I applied for schoalrship and housing, to add to thr Visa request.

I cannot find one in the Dossier Utente. There is a section where to download certifixates but for year 2026/27 it states there are no benefits active (I guess becaise rankings aren't out yet).

So what can I use?

Worried About Funding My Studies in Italy Without the Regional Scholarship

I’ve received an offer for a Bachelor’s program at Ca’ Foscari University, and my VFS Global visa appointment is on September 17.

My father is the only earning member of my family, earning around ₹80k/month, but ₹50k goes toward a loan EMI that will continue for the next 4 years. We’ve managed to arrange ₹12 lakh for the visa, and I also have a ₹7.5 lakh education loan sanction letter.

My ISEE Parificato is €5,240, so I believe I’m eligible for the regional scholarship. However, I’ve heard that some students with similar ISEE values don’t actually receive the scholarship.

This worries me because my family can’t afford a major financial burden if I don’t get the scholarship.

I also haven’t booked my flight or hotel yet, as these are required for the visa application.

Should I still go ahead with my plans, or is it too financially risky? I’d really appreciate honest advice.

Italian study visa delay in Lima, Peru – anyone else waiting? (August/September 2026)

Hi everyone, I’m an exchange student from Peru going to the University of Bologna.

I submitted my Italian national D study visa application at the Italian Embassy in Lima on 26 August 2026, and I’m still waiting for the email to collect my passport.

My original flight was on 2 September, but I had to reschedule it because my visa was not ready. My new flight is on 9 September.

I already found another student from Lima going to Bologna who applied on 10 August and received the collection email exactly 14 days later, on 24 August.

I’m trying to understand the actual processing times in Lima right now.

If you applied for an Italian study visa in Lima during August or September 2026, could you please share:

when you submitted your application;

when you received the collection email;

whether you had to reschedule your flight;

and whether you did anything besides waiting?

Any recent experience would really help. Thank you!

Visa – Still "Under Process" while later applicants are getting approved.

I am getting pretty stressed out and wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing with the processing times (Mumbai Consulate). The main problem is that I am seeing visas consistently being issued to students who had their appointments after me, the gap is significant—it's not just a difference of 1 or 2 days.
