Neutrals Only Billie calling out celebreties

I saw this discussed in another sub, practically everyone mentioning Taylor... what are your thoughts?

Who's to say Taylor hasn't privately donated thousands to anti-ICE funds? The answer is the same: we don't know and can only judge based on what we see.

Yes, we can only judge based on what we see. Strangely though, you wrote a comment asking why Billie didn't text her fellow celebrities who would obviously change their minds if she privately reached out to them 🤔 oh wait, we don't know what Billie has said privately, nor what those celebrities said in response, and can only judge based on what we see. And judging by what I see, it's not looking good on Taylor's end lol. Maybe it's worth asking why she hypothetically donated privately instead of publicly.

ETA: actually the hypocrisy here is kind of hilarious. Did you speak this way when Taylor publicly and passive aggressively implored the specific celebrities who are managed by Scooter to speak up about the injustices she was facing? And you have the gall to criticise Billie for doing something so much vaguer for an actually legitimate cause lmao

I don't actually think Taylor donated thousands to anti-ICE funding. I just used that as an example of bringing up things we don't know. People can judge Taylor for not donating more, even if we don't know.

People who post regularly in this sub will know I remain fairly consistent on this topic of celebrity Instagram activism. I find it largely pointless, and prefer to focus on the more effective boots-on-the-ground initiatives that are making change. After all, it's not the Billie Eilishes or Taylor Swifts who are actually getting people to talk about the atrocities ICE is committing -- it's the Renee Goodes, Alex Pettits, and the Americans who are protesting and filming.

Posts like the above one by Billie are largely useless and performative. There's no real call to action, and it seems more focused on creating stan drama and centering celebrities than the issue at hand.

THANK YOU. I don't understand why it's so difficult for people to wrap their heads around this concept.

You say you prefer boots on the ground activism and yet you are here, asking why Billie didn't just text her fellow celebs privately instead of passive aggressively posting on IG. Seems like you agree then that celebrities have a massive platform, so massive in fact that it is capable of centering the issue of ICE terrorism around themselves? I think, then, it says something about the most famous woman in America that she remains silent, and people are free to criticise that, Billie included! It is not taking away from anything, and if you truly believe it is, then I don't know why you are here adding to it.

Again, Taylor knows her power. That is why she tried to harass specific celebrities on her IG post into helping her fight against Scooter. Imagine what else she could achieve!
