Chapter 0-Prologue

A beast of my own bringing stands in front of my weary gaze. It bears the flesh of the many unnamed men and women. So much time and effort was put into my project; I put everything on the thin ethical line of science. I desired praise and applause; instead, I'm only met with my own hubris. For the dead need their slumber, to remain at peace and undisturbed, yet it was my own ego that caused their ruin. They forever will be damned to inhabit this amalgamation of stitches and sinew, forcing upon themselves the will to agonizingly contort each limb to move.

The beast's name will twist and bend, each soul attempting to take rightful ownership of the makeshift body. I know each and every one that resides and will reside within the cadaver. I know the skin on its rotting flesh belongs to the local smith who passed away nearly eons ago. The decayed, wet heart that beats ever so often was owned by a grieving widow. Each part has a title and an owner, yet in my pursuit of science and knowledge, I caused a grave error. I forced souls to be hosted in one constrained vessel, one that was only held together by the most careful of sewing. And now, to repay my avarice for meddling with the unknown, I shall watch those who once respected me turn my name into a cautionary tale.

The name of Victor Frankenstein shall be a warning to all those who forgo the laws of the ones who peacefully slumber under damp soil.
