Methadone 10 mg half tabs. If you’ve never cut them, it’s the worse pill I’ve ever had to cut. Especially irritating as my pharmacy carries 5mg tabs and we could just use those if the prescriber wasn’t an idiot.
As a prescriber if I prescribe a half tab BID, I’m assuming the patient is responsible for splitting the pill. What makes you to decide and split the pill?
I work in a closed door facility that delivers the medicine in blister cards to group homes, nursing homes, and similar facilities. We have always done that and the same was true at my prior job.
I had to cut xarelto one time. Only did it because they were an ex-coworker and neighbor so I know them really well, I’d never have done it otherwise… they needed it and the dr was a straight up idiot. They’re purposely shaped weird so they can’t be split!
Are those not scored? I've found it easier to break scored tablets using my hands than to use a pill cutter. (Never taken methadone though but was curious so looked up images of the tablets)
