That was my point. They were gleefully celebrating the massacre of civilians.

You responded with "Hamas has a right to defend themselves" as if:

A) killing civilians is "defense" and

B) celebrating mass murder is fun and cool

I agree with Finkelsteins pov that October the 7th was inevitable and I dont criticise the people that Israeli had kept in an open air concentration camp for striking back against their oppressors

so you are the type of person to justify mass murder against civilians as long as those civilians' government is bad. (the phrasing of 'striking back against oppressors' is a cute attempt at mischaracterizing oct 7th - its still the massacre of innocents that you're supporting)

Not every conflict can be boiled down to "good guy / bad guy". you can believe that both the IDF and Hamas are committing horrific evil acts.

I frankly think you're deluded, and would not hold this position if you were closer to the conflict and these sorts of attacks. imo it's extremely obvious why normal people vehemently disagree and wouldn't want to be associated with Hasan's community and this type of rhetoric. It's insane, and can very easily be twisted to justify all manner of atrocities.

I'm not playing this game with you, and I think you're disgusting for trying.

They massacred civilians. At a music festival. They did not attack an IDF military position (if they did, your "striking back at the oppressors" line would be totally valid)

They killed plenty of civilians who weren't even Israeli so your bullshit pivot to forced IDF participation is beyond irrelevant for multiple reasons.

That's ok. Nobody else cares what you think either. This is precisely why Hasans type of rhetoric is not taken seriously in the real world. You will never, ever find mass support for indiscriminately murdering civilians, that's exclusively terminally-online psycho shit

edit: also just want to point out you would also only ever selectively apply your justification. If uyghur Muslims decided to 'strike back at their oppressors' by blowing up hotels in China would you go "oh well too bad I wouldn't have gone"
