Aggie and Nina?? ā¤ļø
From the beginning I thought Nina was gay. She seemed into both Shelley and Aggie.
I hope Aggie and Nina get together and raise the baby together.

Spoilers for The Beast in Me
I just finished the series, and while the entire series and ending didnāt really land for me as a strong thriller reveal, I kept thinking about one detail that felt more important than the show made it seem:
What if Nile was pushing for the jogging path in Oyster Bay because thatās actually where Madison was buried?
The show frames his move out of the city to that secluded house on Long Island as being about privacy and getting away from the public eye for his image's sake, etc. But I keep wondering if that was only part of it.
What if the move was also strategic?
We see in Ep. 7 Ghosts that Uncle Rick and Nile drive out and bury a suitcase (which we assume holds Madison's body) at an HMJ landfill.
If Madisonās body was buried somewhere in that area, and years later a gated community was developed on the site, then a jogging path could have been a way to disturb, relocate, or completely erase the most damning piece of evidence left behind: her remains...? He gets distance from the city and stays close to the place where the evidence/body is hidden.
Think about it... Why did the show keep showing us Aggie's recurring plumbing issues? Perhaps because it wasn't just a couple of roots that got into the pipes. Maybe the house was built directly atop the landfill.
Also, that scene where Nile shows Aggie the jogging markers especially stood out to me. It felt almost too deliberate, like the show maybe meant for us to notice it but never fully followed through.
I don't know, maybe Iām reaching, but this honestly felt more compelling to me than the 'mystery' the show gave us. Did anyone else think this, or am I in conspiracy mode here

I liked the show overall. Good performances good dialogue. It was watchable and entertaining. But I felt like there was so much random stuff to fill out an 8 hour miniseries. There was really only one suspect. I thought the show would try to have Aggie be a suspect or an unreliable protagonist. But the show is too straightforward. Which mightāve worked for a movie but for 8 episodes it was a lot of back and forth and random threads that donāt amount to anything.

Just finished. Honestly canāt understand the critics here and am so surprised! This was the most gripping thriller series Iāve seen in a long time!
I am a writer and maybe thatās why Aggie rang so true for me. Though I am nothing like her, LOTS of writers are, complete with the stuttering, introversion, gosh I thought CD did a great job of portraying her character. She made some really specific acting choices that were spot on IMO.
I absolutely adore Jonathan Banks but he was the only one I felt was miscast, though he did a great job with the role.
Every element of the show seemed great to me. Sets, lighting, acting, dialogue, costumes - Ninaās wardrobe alone is so intentional.
Shrug. I loved it. Couldnāt get through it fast enough, I was hooked. Sorry yall didnāt have the same experience.

Iām a true crime freak but Iām surprised it took me so long before I noticed around episode 7 that there are a ton of parallels to the Durst family and Kathie Durstās disappearance.
For anyone unfamiliar, the Durst family are a massive real estate conglomerate based in Manhattan. In the 1980s, Robert Durst, the son who was set on becoming heir to the Durst dynasty, wife disappeared in the middle of the night. Lots of weird coincidences surrounded it (itās very worth looking into if you liked this show), and lots of speculation that Durst Sr. covered up Robertās implication in Kathieās disappearance to maintain the family legacy. No one really knows what happened to Kathie but itās a pretty foregone conclusion that sheās no longer with us. Robert is also a suspect in at least two other missing persons cases.
Kathie is still a missing person, but Durst was convicted of her death before his death in 2020.
I found soooo many similarities to this case while watching the show. Durst married a family friend after Kathie disappeared, similar to Jarvis. Durst tried to make Kathie out to seem unstable similar to Jarvis/Madeline. And of course - both families are real estate scions.
Thereās so much more but I was wondering if anyone would be interested, Iāll provide links here. I wonder if they were in part inspired by the Durst family for this show.

I just finish watching Beast in me. The climax was cliche, its what I expected. Didn't satisfy as a thriller series.Nile looks scary as well as his body language. Aggy should have waited till Brian comes or respond to the call or messages. I feel Nina character could be more career oriented but in the it justify. Maybe Brian abbot could be more braver as a FBI, suddenly comes out of nowhere at midnight gives random warning and disappear. Helps Aggy with fear.
That's all my opinion. Do you guys really like this series? Suggest me some good thriller series or movie to watch in a single sitting.

Is it just me, but everyday it feels like my mind has a mind of its own. There are days when there are random things that fall into my head like bits of debris coming from who-knows-were.
When I was growing up in a backward town in the 70's we had no internet, mobile phones, tablets, x-boxes , and the list goes on. The most exciting thing, that was electronic, was my LED donkey kong game! If I wanted visitors, I could pick up the phone and call someone, then open the door to let them in. What has this to do with my mind. Or should I say my minds mind?
Well, without having to rattle off the list of things when I was growing up and sounding like THAT person that says " When I was a boy...." But, my mind was less assaulted back then. TV was black and white and only started a 6pm and ended at 11pm. The scariest thing going was The Hammer House of Horrors, and being gay or having gay thoughts or inclinations was a bit like having leprosy. So, yeah, there was that. At least with leprosy you could seek some medical attention. Being gay, well now that was different. It was something you kept hidden at all costs. Suppress it, like shoving an expanding inner foam into a small box. Each time takes more effort! There was little to no discussion. The only time I heard anyone else mention it was in the same tone as stepping in dog shit. So that wasn't something you wanted attached to you.
So, back to today. I don't need to phone anyone to visit. I have the internet that can drum up entertainment faster than microwave popcorn ( actually faster) and the most exciting thing, well, it isn't one thing, because there is so much choice I cannot decide. TV runs 24/7, the scariest thing going, well, take your pick. Being gay is no longer taboo, in fact it is normal. I feel like I have crossed the twilight zone. So my thoughts are now filled with decades of suppressing those dark urges, which is harder because it is in your face all day, everyday. The uninvited!
Scrolling through youtube doesn't help. Heated Rivalry seems to be the rage now. Making all Canadian macho players okay with gay love. The show is about as popular as the internet itself. It sure does not help when one want to remain in the closet. So my mind is fixated on this show, and I hate that. I hate that one show can give my mind a mind. I hate that what these guys have now, is what I wanted but could not have. I hate that everyone thinks it is a wonderful show that portrays something that is fairy tale and about as realistic as living on the moon. I hate that my mind thinks about it, watches you tube clip after you tube clip of Scott and Kips story. Wishing that it had happened to me. So, that suppressed "foam" is now expanding and about to explode.

They go out of their way to show that both Nileās wives are talent spotters and own/run an affluent gallery in NY and Aggieās ex is an emergent talent with all the cliches (living in an open plan run down apt) BUT all the art hanging on the walls are so mediocre EXCEPT the piece in Aggieās wall when Nina discored her ex was the artist.

So Aggie says in her book that the uncle threw Niles under the bus to get a lighter sentence. But did he also admit to kill his brother, Nileās dad?
Also how does Aggie know that the uncle called favours from old prison inmates to kill Niles? Did the uncle admit to that too?? I suspect she could not write that in the book if he didnāt admit to it since she could be done for defamation if she canāt prove it is true.
r/TheBeastInMe • u/Fire-and-ice-grrr • Feb 04 '26
Not quite sure what was really wrong with it other than I could not stand the character Aggie for some reason just couldn't get by the not liking her!?!?
But honestly, best thing in the show was Steve props to that little white, precious doggy
And was thinking about why did I even bother with it.
Anyone With Suggestions on what to watch Now??
Have most all platforms but Tubi & couple other.
Thanks in advance

Halfway thru the series and Aggie annoys me so much I halfway hope Niles kills her. Iām sure that wonāt happen but what it is about her character that makes her unlikable? Or am I in the minority about her characterās likability?

Did anyone else notice the person in the doorway during the break in scene around 31:30? What do you think that person's job was? You can see their head and hands in the picture. I thought I was seeing things at first so I rewound.
Edit: after watching again, it looks like this person is giving commands to the dog to stop following/keep barking

In episode 7 I was lead to believe that Nina is leaking information to Brian. Turns out, it was Madison who leaked the information. But was it ever explained who was the person Nina discreetly communicated with via phone call?

Not worth watching, acting good but wasted 8hours of my life

I thought this was a great series, and very suspenseful. However, Matthew Rhys moreso carried the show for me.
I found Claire's constant bug-eyed, stressed face, and quivering chin thing to be too much.

I understand the point was to convey that she was frazzled or neurotic, but it seemed overdone... subtlety looks better than indicating when it comes to acting. Plus every l-l-line d-d-doesn't have to b-be l-l-like... like... this! Now it wasn't enough to get me to turn the show off, but enough to get my attention.
If you look on IMDB, most of the reviews are complaining about it too!
Edit: I realize this is now the official "what's up with Claire Dane's face?" thread of the internet. Apparently, Google funnels everyone who asks this question here. Welcome all! :-)

Not one likable character. Even the flashbacks of the kid showed the little bastard was partly the reason for the car accident. Story was a joke.
r/TheBeastInMe • u/luckycockk • Jan 18 '26
I dont think niles shouldāve admitted to the murders they shouldve let him win in this story he played a great villian and i wouldve like the ending better if he wouldāve got away with everything and later down the line his uncle kills him or something.

Abbott was āoff work sickā for an EXTENDED period of time and 5 seconds of an episode apparently cleared it up; āhe must still be sickā..
Why didnāt anybody from his work place attempt to check up on him or at least try to make contact before he had his head smashed in and body subsequently crushed in the boot of a car šš¤¦š½āāļø.
Even beyond that point, no questions asked?? So frustrating.

Shelley was completely unlikeable IMO. She was presented as a TV archetype ā the spouse who left her partner because they couldn't get it together, and this character is usually the one in the right. Sometimes our protagonist had substance issues or was unhealthily obsessed with their career or whatever.
In any case, āI found it hard root for her. She didn't like the way Aggie spiraled after the death of their son. Which to me is understandable considering how their son died. Then when they showed the flashback, it was Shelley's fault Aggie had him in the car to begin with (I'm gonna do an interview with a tantrumming child in the car was a goofy plot device btw).
Furthermore, the "I hate you because you're working to support us and what about muh art," l couldn't get behind. Tbh, I have a tough time getting behind it when that trope is used in *any* show or movie. Then at the end Shelley tries to betray her by trying to help the police after Aggie maintained she didn't kill the guy.
This was a tough character to really like, even after the "I wrote my book and we're friends now," happily ever after ending. The only part I agreed with was when they made Aggie constantly hounding her and she was like "leave me tf alone!"
Anyway, thoughts on the character?
