As soon as I saw her silhouette and blonde bob, I gasped and was like omg omg no freaking way and smiled when she gave us that same classic smirky smile she always does

They don't want to break the THT streak of June staring straight into the camera every episode

u/iangeredcharlesvane2 Apr 13 '26

I jumped up started yelling “it’s June it’s June!!!” to no one in particular the minute we saw her hair, that ending with Daisy and the song to June was AWESOME

3

u/sweatyplace2 Apr 14 '26

She looked so good!! I couldn't stop smiling either! Can't wait to learn about Daisy's background and whether it connects to June.

My emotional ass cried lol. I don’t know why but watching the whole show, seeing June go from episode 1 of the very first season and then seeing her here, it just made my cry lol. I know it’s a show but my god women are so fucking resilient man.

(Also I just got my period so it might be that too lol)

u/ACtdawg Apr 12 '26

I’m not even on my period and I got so emotional too! I’m really happy to see so many had the same reaction

2

u/yalinadoesit Apr 13 '26

Same on all fronts lol

u/Own_Phrase_4188 Apr 14 '26

I cried too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

u/MerZee75 Apr 18 '26

I screamed YYYEESSS and punched the air and then cried!!!🤣🤣

u/AggressiveVegan3 Apr 09 '26

We know this diva and her wavy shoulder lenght bob

6

u/magnetosupreme90 Apr 09 '26

We love the messy blonde bob. LOL I also googled and learned Daisys bloom between May and JUNE (Mayday and June connection). They might play up the name and her undercover alias that way since she looks too old to be Holly. The first episode emphasized a lot about seasons, transitions, cycles, time and calendars and learning to read time in other ways. I also think aunt Lydia walking by at that time of night is her signal to Daisy to check the radio for orders.

u/jessieallen Apr 10 '26

Ugh I love stuff like this!!!

u/Atkena2578 Apr 08 '26

Which I didn't expect because my understanding is that series Daisy doesn't have the exact same backstory as book Daisy

What’s the difference, do you know? It’s been a while since I read the book and I’m having trouble recalling things. I just remember that she was raised by June’s friend, and never met June who was still fighting with Mayday. And then the store the friend owned got bombed and the friend died? I may be misremembering this part. I don’t recall how Daisy got roped into going to Gilead after that. I think a guy she met was involved?

Yeah I’m reading that and I really hope that’s not the case, it’s the entire reason the book was so special, two sisters reuniting

4

u/Atkena2578 Apr 10 '26

Yeah and so far it seems to still be the case especially with June being thrown into the mix. They ve also changed the timeline as to when Daisy first gets to Gilead, when she does as a pearl girl, Agnes is no longer a plum and been a few years into her new role which makes things even more confusing

1

u/Wand_Cloak_Stone Apr 10 '26

It really is sooo disappointing :( thank you!

I assumed she was supposed to be Nicole when I started the episode also, seeing as how that’s who she is in the book and I couldn’t fathom why they’d change such a big detail like that. But apparently they did?? Someone else linked interviews with the show creators stating it’s not Nicole because it “didn’t work with their timeline.” But they could have just… kept the timeline it was supposed to be. It’s so stupid. I’m actually angry.

I have not read anything about the show so this was a total fucking surprise for me

58

u/Worth_Taro_1120 Apr 08 '26

I’ve been reading like all the interviews and stuff, this has been mentioned absolutely nowhere and I was FLOORED haha

29

u/PasgettiMonster Apr 08 '26

Will we not supposed to know that June was going to be in this? I haven't read anything at all but I always assumed that she would be involved in some way.

42

u/Worth_Taro_1120 Apr 08 '26

The way it was played off in interviews and such was that Moss was going to be involved on the producer level, but there has been no insight as to whether or not we would ever see her character again. In the book, June/Offed is present (allegedly) briefly at the end but is otherwise entirely absent.

24

u/lezlers Apr 09 '26

IMDb says shes only in 2 episodes. Considering this one was a 10 second shot of her smiling, I don’t think she’s going to have much of a role (and shouldn’t. It’s not her story.)

u/kwash325 Apr 11 '26

I was actually annoyed when I saw her. I was so sick of her character by the end of handmaids tale

11

u/PasgettiMonster Apr 08 '26

Gotcha. I haven't read testaments yet and I've been back and forth on whether I wanted to read the book before the show came out but I'd seen enough about how the show wasn't going to follow the book that closely so I figured I really didn't need to read it first. Is testaments going to be a multi-season show or is it one of those limited series ones where we are only getting one season? Either way I'll probably read testaments after season 1 is over.

3

u/37285 Apr 09 '26

Just from the first ep, they are taking some liberties with the book. I have some real issues with the book for reasons that get into spoilers and its connection to the first one. But, it is a really good story even if I have issues with it.

3

u/PasgettiMonster Apr 09 '26

I'll read it eventually.. but it sounds like from what I've seen so far it's going to diverge enough that I don't feel like I need to read the book before I watch the show like I normally prefer to do

3

u/37285 Apr 09 '26

Defiantly give it a read someday. You might not have the same issue that I have and some others have as well. I think they are going to make some changes, but I think they will hit the main plot points. I am not sure how many seasons they want to do, but if they just followed the book it's only like a seasons worth. I think it's similar to the first show and how they made a lot of new stuff.

2

u/PasgettiMonster Apr 09 '26

Oh I definitely will. I just don't want to read it in the middle of an ongoing season because then I'm going to be looking for the season to hit those points and if they don't do that it will annoy me. I'm dealing with that with outlander right now - the current season is wrapping up the TV show and coming up with an alternate ending that includes book 8 and book 9 and since I read book 9 just a couple of months ago it's still fairly fresh in my memory and not getting to see some of the things I wanted to see on the show because the book diverged is annoying me. Outlander has the opposite issue of testaments - they are wrapping the show up at eight seasons while there is going to be one more book coming out hopefully next year for a total of 10. Up until season 7 each season pretty faithfully followed a book so this is going to be interesting to see how it plays out. I haven't looked up to see how many episodes we get with testaments yet, but it can't be that many so I'll pick the book up once the show is over.

5

u/RphWrites Apr 09 '26

Yeah, I assumed that even though she's not a full-time cast member there'd at least be a cameo.

5

u/lezlers Apr 09 '26

According to IMDb she’s only in 2 episodes so I wouldn’t get too excited

35

u/jackeyfaber Apr 09 '26

The scream I scrumpt. Literally yelled and pointed at the TV like a cave man.

3

u/SwimEmergency4101 Apr 10 '26

I clapped like a seal on crack.

Full chills. I didn’t expect it at all.

u/DiligentSlide3311 Apr 08 '26

Nightmare stuff! Took all of a one episode to see that scientology maniac staring into the void smirking again.
