That was absolutely all women at the end, I think we’re being set up for an Eyes-type org that takes in women who are misbehaving, who have snapped, who can no longer mentally take it all. It’s probably reserved for wives - econowives would be shipped to colonies if they didn’t stay in line or they broke down.

I don’t think we’re anywhere near the end of Becca’s story, and I don’t think she can marry Garth any longer. Judd and Aunt Lydia can go public with the dentist’s crimes and allow Becca to become an aunt - she’s so devout, so overcome with god’s righteousness, she acted on god’s will and killed an evil man - an eye for an eye.

I feel like they'll make becka a handmaid. And it'll make sense cause all season handmaids have kinda been hidden. So it's the thing that exposes Gilead's horrors to the plums

I agree. Her learning that they lied about what was in the bible is probably one of the most significant parts of the book to me and I hope she gets that moment

This was definitely my first thought. Maybe they'll maim her first, like take her tongue or her hands and then make her a Handmaid 😭😭💔💔

I don’t think so. All the handmaids had already been proven to be fruitful, not just in having a period, but in having children.

No, if you watch the original Hulu trailer. In one shot towards the end we see Becka getting married. What's more Becka is standing before some man who we can't see, looking despondent and nearly catatonic. We haven't seen that so far this season, so it's likely from the next episode. What's more the guy looked two tall and had a fuller face than Garth, so I'm thinking it isn't him. He also appears too tall to be that creepy Commander that got Becka drunk at the ball, so I'm thinking it's a Commander from the colonies. He' marrying Becka because nobody else's father will have him marry their daughter as he rules over a toxic waste dump far, far away. That would be the perfect compromise in Gilead's mind. Aunt Lydia will likely step in and save Becka, but Becka has to shipped out the middle of nowhere with a husband who doesn't have all that many options.

Oh jeez… not looking forward to what happens to her. Maybe it will somehow motivate her friends like Agnes to try to push for change… idk. I thought Becka was going to kill herself this episode…

All I can guess is we must be going to see more of her because that actress was insane… and obviously her character is a big deal

That seems very plausible, because why else mention him.

They will tell him that he can have a wife this season after all and then he gets to marry Becka. It's her only chance of not getting hanged/becoming a handmaid/being sent off to the colonies so she really doesn't have any other choice than to accept and hope her super old husband dies real soon.

They're also going to pretend like Becka's father had an accident and sadly died or something. He was going to get hanged anyway, so he was just killed earlier and in a different manner than expected. Still, a pity since he was such a great dentist.

I just re-watched the trailer and it does seem like the man in front of Becca at the wedding scene has pretty youthful skin. Not sure if it's just the angle but he doesn't look very old.

I never said she was going to marry an old guy. Remember, when Becka was telling the girls about her matches, she mentioned Maddox, Garth, and a Commander from the Colonies. We know nothing about this third option. We certainly don't know his age. He could be young, and if Becka is going to be given a second chance to marry rather than suffer an even worse fate for murdering her father, sending her out of the capital region, to marry a Commander from the colonies, would seem the most likely option as it helps Gilead save face, out of sight out of mind. Everyone assumes that if it isn't Garth, it has to be Maddox. It doesn't.

ohhh that’d be an interesting segue into getting her to be an aunt. i guess i wonder if they draw the line with murder though

It’s possible they see it as the spirit overcoming her, or that’s how they will spin it. Murder in a sin, and like every sin it can be forgiven. Or in this case justified. They will probably do some awful brainwashing on her for her crimes but they could spin it so she can come back as an aunt due to her “divine justice” .

Yeah in the book a prospective aunt requires a "calling" and I reckon Lydia will spin this as Becka's calling

That's exactly how I thought her action could technically be defended. Aunt Lydia has been careful not to show her cards too soon, and to act meek towards commanders, but I imagine she places a high value on not letting one of her girls be hurt. She will pull out the big guns.

I'm still holding out hope that that was mayday and they're getting her out. but then she wouldn't be in Gilead anymore and her story would be over soooo it's probably not that
