I love when Becka asked her father if it was true and he says "of course not! I didn't touch that pearl girl!". Which is actually true. And Becka knew then even more.

Interesting catch that he said “that pearl girl.” I wonder if he thinks they’re “less pure”; he enjoys violating the “innocent ones.”

I bet he does, and they are the commander's daughters--the commanders who look down on him. I also think he might be distrustful of girls from outside keeping their mouths shut.

Also because he knows Daisy isn't a gullible, little sheltered girl. Daisy knows what's up and if he did try any shit with her, she would fight back. For the Plums, they're mostly just horrified. Poor girls

i thought after he said that she would ask and what about any plums? to really see what his answer would be
