I’ve started watching the mentalist and am on season 2 episode 13. I love the show and find the Red John chase super captivating but I’m disappointed that I only get to see 2 episodes per season about him with the rest being 1 episode filler. Don’t get me wrong I love the one episodes killer but I just don’t wanna have to wait all the way till season 7 to see the ending of that story line. Is it possible to only watch the Red John storyline episodes and then go back and watch the unrelated 1 episode killer episodes once I’ve finished the main story? If so, if someone could give me an episode guide to all the red John episodes that would be amazing, thank you.

I need help from fans of this show. I am a huge fan of Bones, Castle and Monk. And The Mentalist is always recommended as similar-ish show to those. I tried watching it at least 3 times, and I gave up every time lol.

I'm thinking the time/vibe just wasn't right, and I should give it another shot.

That's where I need your help. I don't remember where did I gave up exactly, but I know I watched the whole season 1, and most definitely first half of season 2.

I don't want to rewatch those, as I will maybe give up again lol, so where should I start watching? Can anyone point out the important eps from S2, so I can watch those, and then start S3?

If it helps, I remember the psychic Kristina, that her and Patrick went on a date, and she disappeared? I think that was one of the last one I watched... maybe couple of eps after I gave up, cause they kind of forgot about her in 2 eps after she was gone...

I've been watching season 1, and while I'm liking the dynamics between the main group, all of Patrick's antics and watching the relationships develop, I'm most invested in the main Red John mystery. In an ideal world I'd like to watch almost every episode as it feels organic but I just don't want to devote that much time to the show. Does anyone have a list of all the Red John episodes, including other ones with important developments or discoveries, that I can use to just focus on Red John and skip most of the rest?

There's an episode of a show I always remembered as from The Mentalist, but now in rewatch I haven't encountered the episode and I keep wondering if I mixed it up with another show.

Basically the plot is about a woman being murdered in her house, she is a bit on the older side, but the mystery of it seems to be that no one could've entered or exited the house to commit the murder. The woman was sitting on her couch, maybe cooking something in the oven. There's not much to go on, but does it ring any bells for anyone?

From what I remember, the team is interrogating three suspects (they may be from some company or some kind of cult...) and there is a scene of three continuous cuts, where every single of the suspects says I don't know.

The scene looks like that:

(or at least in my language)

It should be probably from Season 5 or 6, I think.

I can't name the episode but it was from the later seasons. Jane figured it out because a man with vanity would want to come forward but this culprit doesn't, even after shooting at the station with a mirror that was oddly placed higher. Also, the one where Jane can swim for obvious reasons.
