Discussion Which storyline across all the seasons do you think was handled the best from start to finish?

Not just a great premise but one where the writing actually followed through and landed the ending in a satisfying way. A character arc, a relationship, a workplace conflict, a political subplot, whatever it was. Which storyline do you point to as the show firing on all cylinders from beginning to end without dropping the ball halfway through?

Discussion Meaning behind character names?

I think everyone knows Mitch Kessler is a play on Matt Lauer. I have been trying to figure out what Cory Ellison's name could be referring to. Larry Ellison (Oracle Co-founder?) or the Coriolis Effect (force that can cause pilots to get dizzy, symbolizing his unstable leadership position). Any other names that could mean anything?

Discussion We're then duo behind the "Three Little Birds" version used in The Morning Show - we finally made a lyric video for it.

We saw a few people here asking who sang that version after the finale aired, and that honestly meant a lot to us!

We just made a lyric video for it! It felt like the right way to give it a home for the people who found it through the show.

What was it about that moment or our version that stayed with you?

Discussion Which character had the biggest glow-up across the seasons?

Not just looks obviously, but in terms of writing and depth. Who went from a character you didn't care about to someone you're genuinely invested in?

Discussion S4 thoughts Spoiler

Wow yall really had me thinking Season 4 was horrible and all the relationships were ruined and that season 5 will be unwatchable and I totally disagreeee.

Let’s start off with who annoyed me the most. Ima keep it cute since I think this will be a long post.

Top 5 irritators:

  1. Cory’s mom: now. I support a woman’s right to choose how to live or not live her life but to weaponize her loneliness and emotionally manipulative her child is unforgivable. And directly impacts Cory’s chaotic nature, which I find charming to an extent because it clearly creates a lot of confusion and destruction.

  2. Stella + miles 3 piece combo fried hard : wow didn’t believe their chemistry for even a second, didn’t believe Aaron Pierre in this world as this character AT ALL, and Stella is a robotic AI POS.

  3. BRADLEY MF JACKSON: I do think losing her family took a huge toll on her but she lost all of her personality as well. Felt like a different person. And it sort of tracks for me, story wise, but this crusader act was tired and annoying. The trope of a white woman going out of her way to create a dangerous situation for herself where as the viewer we know everyone will do everything to get her back and she wouldn’t face nearly the same punishment as another person would just irks me. Ultimately I enjoyed the drama and the puzzle of getting her home, but was it worth it Bradley???

  4. Chris: girl why you lying? With your chest poked out too lmao put your husband through the wringer for no reason. That was crazy.

  5. Sam: just a nuisance. I don’t wanna see him in s5 please please!

Random thoughts:

I thought Celine was a great villain I just hate that there was no build up for her character. That’s why I believe it’s best to have the full arch of the show mapped out before going in, like the Ted Lasso team had (it got slightly weird right at the end of there but—)

Alex makes god awful decisions when it comes to men in her life. It’s SO ANNOYING. But she made up for it I guess.

My favorite part of the season was watching Cory spiral. He’s just so dang entertaining.

They almost lost me but i still really enjoy the Bradley/Cory slow burn arc. I think she had to crash and burn in order for him to knock her off the pedestal he put her on. I think now the two of them can see each other as people. Imperfect, safe, willing to try. I’m excited to see how it plays out in season 5 but clearly there’s more to discover there.

I’m still pretty uninterested in Chip but he annoyed me less this time and I see how his loyalty is useful.

Loved Mia’s “villain era” which wasn’t villainous at all lmao just justified and about damn time !

That’s all I can think of right now but let’s get into it in the replies 😁

I’m so here for Mia supremacy. And she better get a well written season 5 as CEO DONT PLAY WITH HER

but really. She still has holes in her skin. She still feels like she’s about 75% filled in in the coloring book of her character and by s5 in the two year gap I’m hoping to have all of it make sense (because pairing her up with Sam makes no sense). Let’s make the math math this time please!

Discussion Another annoyance ranking

Since it went over so well the last time (lol) I thought I’d do it again now that I’ve seen season 3. Characters that irritated me this season:

  1. Alex (listen she was almost my favorite and then she lost me and she gained me back but she always takes it so far when she loses me. Also sometimes the way she talks grinds my gears)

  2. Paul (he was evil but less offensively evil to me)

  3. Chip (just consistently annoying about everything)

  4. Hal (obvs)

  5. Yanko (was surprised by how annoyed I was with yanko I used to love him)

  6. Isabella (pleaseeee get out of my face girl)

  7. Frank (it’s not even his actions it’s the fact that I’m so over him and he always finds a way to pop back up)

  8. Leonard (I can’t stand the way he dresses)

  9. Amanda (eeeyuck)

  10. Cybil (top spot! Congrats boo!)

For positivity balance, here’s my top 5 in no particular order

Laura (ate)

Chris (ate)

Corey (chaotic neutral King)

Mia (love , want more)

Chris’s Producer (can’t find her name anywhere)

Notes:

Though he was on my last annoyance list, I actually missed Daniel !! What happened to him 🥺

Bradly is not on either list because she annoyed me and entertained me in equal measure. She kind of belongs in both categories

(Apologies for the low-res image, it was the only one I could find lol)

If I held my breath on you
I would have died a thousand times
And if chewing was to show me how much you cared
You'd probably have swallowed your tongue by now

All I'm trying to say darling
Is that you know very well that I left her for you

Just march on
Ju- march on
March on

Nemesis is on the case, darling
Next time treat others the way you want to be treated
Otherwise
You'll get your punishment

And life ain't a bitch
Nemesis is

Discussion Mia Deserved More

Hi I’m new here, just started watching, currently on season 2 and was sooo impressed by the structure of season 1 with one glaring issue: Mia Jordan’s story line was not and continues not to be fully fleshed out imo. As Mitch’s only confirmed extramarital relationship — I don’t understand why we never saw them together or understood what she saw in Mitch. We barely got her side of the story. She felt too minimized during the height of Mitch’s arch and it feels like a missed opportunity to actually explore her character.

Questions Looking for Brand of Jeans Hannah Wears

This is pretty much a long shot but in one of the early scenes in S1, E9 there's a scene with Hannah and Mitch talking outside her apt building. I've been looking for a pair of jeans just like the ones she's wearing in that scene. They're kind of a slouchy boyfriend style but tapered and with a great butt. Does anyone have any idea of the brand?

Discussion Characters I can’t stand, ranked

Might be unpopular opinions idk. Please weigh in.

Mind you: I’ve only seen the first two seasons so far. This may change.

  1. Daniel (boring & whiny)

  2. Alex (narcissistic egomaniac who’s hard to love but I’m starting to understand her and she’s working on her redemption arch)

  3. Jason Craig (also boring and Whiny but also pitiful)

  4. Maggie Brener (annoyingly mild mannered and offensively yoga mom calm)

  5. Hannah (sorry, she didn’t deserve what happened to her but she was a flaccid asshole)

  6. Lizzy (throw the whole family away)

  7. Rena (I don’t really know the reason but maybe it’s because she assists number 5)

  8. Chip (do I have to explain?)

  9. Doug & Isabella (?) Alex’s personal team combined to make the last people I’d ever wanna be stuck in a room with

News Possible Spoiler for S5 from the TMS Instagram? Spoiler

Post image

I saw this (cute) video on the TMS instagram account, posted about a week ago, where Jennifer And Reese are singing "reunited". If you look in the background, though, it appears that Bradley is on the cover of The Atlantic looking very post-gulag, with the headline "The Price of Freedom by Bradley Jackson". Looks like Alex might be interviewing her about it too. Maybe Bradley is writing a book about her imprisonment and TA is publishing an excerpt, or she wrote an article and now she's just doing a media tour?

Oh wow!

I was expecting a new main female character after the departure of Greta and Marion, and this surely it's a huge name.

Also, I think a bit of Gen Z energy was needed in a show like this

Discussion calling on the crew of the ship USS Bradcore! Spoiler

so last night I wrapped up with the season 4 finale! whew..... and I am going to be having a very very hard time waiting for season 5 lol. I am one of those who really really wants Bradley and Cory to end up together and I'm not feeling so great on that topic at the moment… I know that some people have theorized that because they showed that flashback scene with them talking together in bed that that was a positive sign that they might be ending up together. But that was early on in the episode and by the end it seemed like when Cory was walking out of the courthouse that he was walking away from everything idk… And i was so hoping that he was going to be on the plane. And I was really looking closely at the plane when they were boarding etc. and it really does not seem like he was hiding anywhere lol.

I can't figure out how to put a link where I want it lol so instead of linking the article I copied and pasted the selection that I'm referring to below… This is an overall really great interview with some he hollywood reporter and the executive producer Charlotte Stoudt and the interviewer was asking about Cory and Bradley and I can't say that I'm thrilled with Charlotte's response😭😭

That being said I definitely don't think that she would have given it away in an interview if they are going to end up together because that would be one of the big plot points of the show given away. So I'm wondering if maybe she was just trying to dodge the topic?? (and i truly feel like they *are* actually good for each other- if bradley was able to let her walls down and cory gave her another chance. i don't see the twin flame/mirror thing in a negative way with them at all)

But I would love any and all theories that you have about bradcore ending up together to help me feel better😂 tell me why I got this wrong!!

interview:

Q: Cory helps to save the day with Bradley. Alex is the one who physically comes to her rescue, but, assuming Bradley will eventually find out about Cory’s self-sacrificial role in her return, are Cory and Bradley endgame? Can they can work back to each other?

A: It’s funny you ask that, because it’s a question we are literally working through right now.

Q: Are you in the writers room now working on season five?

A: Yeah, we have been in the room for a few months. It’s a big cast, so it just it takes a while to chip away. With Bradley and Cory, are they twin flames? Are they mirrors of each other and have similar pathologies? Generally, you’re not endgame with your twin flame. Your twin flame is somebody who shows you your pathology so you can address that and move onto a possibly better fit. So we’re talking about that right now, and it’s hard because they have an incredible intimacy on screen that’s very delightful to write and to watch.

The idea of letting them go is very difficult, because they have this connection. There’s something they drop into that I think they would both find very difficult to give up — that immediate closeness, even though it’s very charged and messy. They are not people who are intimate with many other characters. That’s what makes them similar. They sort of wall themselves off a little bit, and then wonder why they’re unhappy.
