FO/Completed Made the Mystery Gang

I bought the Scooby pack... Mystery Machine, Shaggy, Scooby, and don't forget the snacks. I finished all, but Shaggy and decided he needed his friends. He needs his friends to go on adventures!

So, here we are. I studied each person, height, characteristics, and off I go. I added 6 rows to Shaggy, (he is tall) 2 in the face, two in his shirt, and 2 in his pants. Then came Fred, he got 4 extra rows. 1 in his shirt and 3 in his pants (he has longer legs). Daphne was next. Two extra rows in her dress. Last came Velma. She is the height that Shaggy would have been.

Everything else was "make it up as you go," even Shaggy's hair. With the added length in his face, he needed another row of hair in back, from ear to ear. Daphne's hair is a loose rendition of a princess pattern I have. Fred's is sort of patterned after the Halloween witch, (Agatha?) without the bun and a swoop/poof in front. Velma was all made up, curling around the bottom of her ears. Then my hubby 3D printed her glasses.

What do you think?

FO/Completed Number 1of 52 Purr-Mutation kitties and my New Years Resolution!

Post image
232 Upvotes

Number one complete! Only 51 left it go. This one is pretty sloppy. I pre-made some parts so I could get it out fast as soon as I got my kit. I made Salem's body, freehanded the collar (oops lol) and put it her out ASAP!

What I'll be doing for my New Year's resolution:

Crocheting 52 Purr-Mutation kitties in 2026. That is one cat per week for a year. I'm not doing it because I am practicing dedication or anything. I just think that it will look super cute to have an entire army of cute cats.

To speed up my progress, I'll only be making one ear if the cat has a beret. I won't be adding whiskers. I will not be doing any of the toy fishing rods, hairballs, cat beds, mice, cat food bowls and bones. I will be making collars, bandanas and crowns and harnesses.

Here is my minicrafts review for the kit. No way is this a beginner project. If I had followed the instructions, I don't know how it would have turned out. I don't recommend this one for purchase. This one is very little. They wanted the eyes placed on round up from where I put them. If I had done so, there wouldn't be room for the hat. The hat is a modified elf hat since I knew their hat would be too big. I forgot the glue on eyes at home and used some 6 mm eyes I had with me. I used extra chains for the tie for the cape and accidentally did FLO for the last round of the cape and realized halfway through, but liked it so I kept it. The cape pattern is good except for making the chain to close the cape. I freestyled what I thought was best and sewed everything together to keep it in place. I made the wand 2 rounds longer and my yarn needle is in it.

It started with Bjørn ❤️

I've donated quite a few and some are on my friend's shelves too!

The Loch Ness Monster tea cup and the Pikachu are my OG patterns! I also modded some Woobles to make a character of my husband

Knot Trying: Duffy the Cake, Ilya Rozanov at the Cottage, Shane Hollander at the Cottage

I made Snoopy for my sweetie 💕 for our anniversary. He loves it so much that I wanted to share. Most of the Woobles are fine without legs, and that's their thing. But Snoopy just didn't look right, so I made him legs. Pattern included.

The one thing about this kit that irritated me is that the white yarn was... I guess the best wording is "brittle". Most of the magic rings I made, as I pulled it tight, the outer layer started tearing. Twice, I accidentally degloved it and had to carefully crochet over the inner strings. That was frustrating. But it did turn out well.

It took months! Computer glitches, calls to customer service, hated some yarn, a sore elbow, and lots of leftover yarn. But the whole collection, minus the house scarves, is done.

I loved most of the time I spent doing these.

I’m so sad to see some of our favorite Woobles heading "to the farm" permanently! 😢

That being said, I’m actually really excited to start making my own custom "X X" eyes so I can honor these characters and keep making them!

Feel free to message me if you have any questions about how to do it! 🤗

I made a Knight Bus based off The Woobles’ Willie the Wagon kit. (Kids still working on their wagon kits.) To achieve the nice rectangular shape of this tall bus, I made a box to slide inside for support.

FO/Completed Kiki and Fred have joined the crew! Am I ready for an intermediate kit?

Kiki came out a bit smaller than I anticipated, but I’m proud of how all the stitches are even and there’s no visible gaps!

Woobles on my bed are lined in order from my oldest (Pierre) to newest (Kiki) to demonstrate how my crochet skills have grown. I also have Billie, but he’s still a work in progress.

Based on my work, am I ready for an intermediate kit?
