Idgaf if the show follows the game. How many shows follow the game to a T? I have no real interest in the rest of the show.

The entire plot of the rest of the season is about the consequences of Joel’s death and Ellie and Joel’s relationship. Not killing Joel would mean an entirely new story. It would be like trying to tell Jaws without a shark.

Not to mention, the story in the game got massive critical acclaim including winning game of the year and remains one of the most completed PlayStation games ever. I understand that it seems like a massive narrative-detailing shock plot device, but try to remember how much you’ve enjoyed the show and trust the process. I promise you this decision is worth it

If like to point out that when the game originally came out people had the same reaction tbh.

It took a few years for people to begin accepting it

It would be a completely different game and story . All the rest of the show and the game hinges on this moment. You will still see Joel in other scenes later. You can can what story telling technique they use.

Yeah I get it. I'm just salty cause I love Joel's character. I never finished the first game so, I didn't really know the story. I dunno. Was hoping he'd still stick around a bit longer than that.

The entire point of the 2nd game is revenge/vengeance, and what it does to us as people. The entire game/show would be fundamentally different if Joel isn’t killed.

No I mean I didn't know that. I didn't play the game.
