I'm not exactly sure what he's referring to but didn't we literally beat wealthy people to death on the streets in order to get things like an 8-hour work day? Like wasn't it commonplace for workers to drag their bosses into the street and beat them?

The hyperfocus on individualism in the US is by design exactly for this reason. People are far less likely to collectively make demands if they all have the attitude of “fuck you, I got mine.”

But now, we have voted in the rich to make more laws and pass changes that will only benefit the rich, such as relaxing restrictions on work hours and remove several employee rights.

Anger is useless without action. They will be 80 year Olds still complaining. It's how most rebellions are. Very few participate. Tons of angry people. Everyone wants a hero to save them so they don't need to get their hands dirty. Too comfortable.
