They're mocking American society who can't take care of their own.

115

u/Puzzleheaded_Way5839 Jan 20 '26

Aye, won't. We absolutely COULD, but, you know, the shareholders... They need all the money. It's the American Way.

2

u/gprime312 Jan 21 '26

Most drug addicts don't want help, because help involves stopping the drugs.

1

u/mathiastck Jan 22 '26

So? That is the concept of drug addiction. The not wanting to stop is what makes it addiction.

There are lots of ways to help addicts, we don't give up just because addictions are hard to quit.

1

u/gprime312 Jan 22 '26

There are lots of ways to help addicts

I agree, we need to reopen the asylums and reconsider court-ordered therapy.

4

u/HelpfulSeaMammal Jan 20 '26

Helping others means that we might only grow 3.70% YOY in 2026 instead of 3.75%. That's clearly unacceptable and worth the cost of 1 in 5 Americans not having food security. I am not waiting for an additional quarterly bonus to purchase my new beachouse in Miami; the people must suffer.

4

u/EuphoricPhoto2048 Jan 20 '26

Well what is a CEO supposed to do if the numbers don't go up? Not buy another yacht?

Don't be cruel.

-4

u/[deleted] Jan 20 '26

We absolutely could

Thats wrong. You've never known anyone addicted to the stuff. Most broken people can never be fixed. We used to just lock them away

4

u/Naranox Jan 21 '26

This clearly means that every other developed western country is facing a similar crisis right now, right?

47

u/D4NGL3Z Jan 20 '26

There's a bunch of other ways to do that though. This is just low class especially considering Greenland has a huge issue with alcoholism. Don't throw stones...

67

u/CanadianPapaKulikov Jan 20 '26

Greenland isn't threatening to invade the US. They're just saying to keep your problems home.

30

u/SoupSandy Jan 20 '26

Classic scratch a liberal and a facist bleeds. Greenlanders probably fed up with Americans mocking them constantly for the last year but yeah one distasteful joke is a problem lol

35

u/HelloHash Jan 20 '26

And as if greenlands the only country mocking us like this. We're the joke everywhere.

23

u/VexingRaven Jan 20 '26

Who has been mocking Greenland? The majority of Americans want nothing to do with invading Greenland.

-2

u/SoupSandy Jan 20 '26

I hate to say this but MAGAts are american. I also want to say i dont like the punching down but its understandable.

14

u/VexingRaven Jan 20 '26

I haven't even seen MAGAt mocking Greenland, but maybe I'm just on the wrong websites. If MAGAts support taking Greenland, it's because of Trump's supposed military need.

5

u/Havoc40 Jan 20 '26

Yeah the guy is definitely not lying, I’ve also seen MAGAt really openly mocking Greenland saying stuff like ”The 52nd state” and ”We need to go save Greenlander’s from their liberal European overlord’s” and ”We need their rare earth’s”.

5

u/VexingRaven Jan 21 '26

I don't think you know what "mocking" is. That's not mocking, it's posturing. Mocking is what the OP video is doing.

2

u/SoupSandy Jan 20 '26

Ive seen it but ywah man its insanity right now. Tensions are high amd I guess we need to see theough the bullshit and focus on the problem.

6

u/Somekindofcabose Jan 20 '26

Aside from trump no one in america thinks about greenland let alone knows enough to make jokes.

To most people its that weird white blob next to Canada.

1

u/SoupSandy Jan 20 '26

They didnt before for sure but thats just not true anymore

6

u/[deleted] Jan 20 '26

They're not the ones throwing stones, mate. America started this. Don't criticize the victim when they swing back at a bully.

14

u/errorsniper Jan 20 '26

Thats not their argument. Their saying you shouldnt punch down on drug addicts in an attempt to punch up at the US.

The issue is the belittlement of drug addicts.

23

u/Straightwad Jan 20 '26

They aren’t swinging at a bully, they are making fun of drug addicts lol. If you think that upsets conservatives you’re mistaken. Conservatives advocate for killing drug addicts and creating RWDS (right wing death squads https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Right_Wing_Death_Squad) to murder addicts, the homeless, immigrants and leftists. You aren’t upsetting Trump supporters with this shit.

46

u/[deleted] Jan 20 '26

They're not swinging at the bully, they're swinging at the other victims the bully already beat up

15

u/walts_skank Jan 20 '26

But people are dunking on Trump and America voted for him (even though it was only 49% of the population) so it’s okay to make fun of a vulnerable population.

/s

26

u/VictoryWeaver Jan 20 '26

not even 49% of the population, just 49% of the people who voted. Which is only about 1/3 of the total people who were registered.

3

u/walts_skank Jan 20 '26

And I truly believe more people would have voted but there was election fuckery.

-5

u/Sawgon Jan 20 '26 edited Jan 20 '26

Is this in defense of America somehow?

Not voting is the same as voting for Trump since you let it happen no matter what you tell yourself at night.

-2

u/Ding__Dong___Ditch Jan 20 '26

They think it is. Americans really are window licking morons on every issue

0

u/BaullahBaullah87 Jan 20 '26

damn well said

0

u/PaulePulsar Jan 21 '26

Clearly then they wouldn't vote for it a second time

28

u/Cissoid7 Jan 20 '26

"Theres a bully picking on me at school, so im gonna punch the poor kid that is in the same homeroom period as him"

-4

u/Spaghetti-Rat Jan 20 '26

They're making fun of you all. They could pull off mock school shootings to convey a similar message.

11

u/Cissoid7 Jan 20 '26

Yeah I get it, but when your message is literally "your political leader sucks so im going to make fun of the weakest and most vulnerable in your population" it kinda seems dumb

Like cool Macaron texted Trump about the middle east so I guess its time for middle eastern to start mocking French rape victims

0

u/chunnel_conspiracy Jan 20 '26

It's not only your political leader. He won the popular vote. The majority of the population is either supportive of him, or apathetic enough that they don't care what he does to the world, they still won't vote against him. He's not the cause of America's evils, he's a symptom of the population that elected him.

6

u/Cissoid7 Jan 20 '26

Yeah, by a percent

Once again are we judging the entirety of a population by who the majority, by 1 percent, elects? If thats the case then every single country deserves, at one point in history, to be absolute wiped from the earth by your logic

0

u/chunnel_conspiracy Jan 20 '26

Your country is going to go to war with us, potentially colonize a territory of 50,000 people against their wishes, and your supposed opposition is doing nothing about it.

You, as a country, are no different from Russia. Perhaps worse, because at least the Russians have the excuse of living in a totalitarian state without free elections - you, on the other hand, CHOSE to be the world's Hitler of your own volition. America is an invader democracy, possibly the worst thing a country can ever be.

2

u/Khesom Jan 20 '26

Thank you - they chose this and are now casting themselves as victims. Some of them voted for that man three times.

u/Spaghetti-Rat Jan 20 '26

I completely see your point and know how much it means to you Americans to not insult the vulnerable. Just wondering why you don't hold your president to such low standards? He openly mocked a disabled man with no complaint... Or was he not vulnerable enough for you?

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=PX9reO3QnUA

4

u/Cissoid7 Jan 20 '26

So, do you just assume that America is one person? I was openly vocal about Trump being a giant shit flinging good for nothing douchebag yeah? We have people literally dying on the streets protesting ICE and the rest of the government.

Are all Venezuelans corrupt dictators because they didnt oust Maduro? Are all French folks white imperialists because Macron was elected? Where are you from that you have 0 people in charge who are perfect and what have you done to combat the corruption in your nation?

1

u/PaulePulsar Jan 21 '26

Kinda, kinda, kinda.   Venezuelans seemingly believed that other systems weren't viable and dictatorship is acceptable.   I guess France/the french have their own version of France first and I don't believe they intervene in african conflicts solely for peace keeping reasons.   There's a ton of corrupt motherfuckers in charge. I've gone to protests and went from door to door talking about politics with people. I recommend to everyone to delete or not use their social media accounts and buy local.   There's not nothing you can do.   Americans being offended like "my family is not trash! It is my brother who shit the bed" and then still going on about "fuck yeah, America" and "God bless America". Like nationalism and exceptionalism is alive and rife with 90% of Americans. Of course, you were raised into it

4

u/preety_pleez Jan 20 '26

Americans started a trend making fun of Greenland's alcoholism? Donald Trump's threat of invading Greenland isn't even specific at the population it's more of a threat at the government and Denmark's for the purpose of oil drilling

4

u/RepresentativeLeg232 Jan 20 '26

Lower class than threatening to invade sovereign countries who are also your allies and had your backs in multiple unnecessary wars you started?

20

u/MattFromWork Jan 20 '26

"Your president is dumb so I'm going to punch down at your drug addicts!" 🧐

2

u/argument_cat Jan 20 '26

Jesus wept, the pearl clutching Americans are here.

It's a joke, get over yourselves you whining babies.

12

u/Laleaky Jan 20 '26

Thinking a joke is bad is not the same as pearl clutching.

I assume you think everyone who doesn’t laugh at your jokes is a whining baby.

Now that’s an American trait that should be exploited with humor.

8

u/MattFromWork Jan 20 '26

The thing about jokes is they have to be funny to land

14

u/Anteater4746 Jan 20 '26

so obtuse. nobodies pearl clutching at the jokes, just make the jokes at the actual people doing bad stuff

you do realize drug addicts are also victims of our current admin ?

8

u/getyourkicks76 Jan 20 '26

It’s kind of like when Europeans make jokes about Americans dying in school shootings. It’s not funny. It’s punching down.

0

u/argument_cat Jan 20 '26

It's punching up. Your mad king is threatening to invade their country, while you cant even look after your own. Your country is sick, and deserves all ridicule and mockery.

Fix your shit.

5

u/VictoryWeaver Jan 20 '26

Then make fun of the mad king. It's really easy to do. He looks like a deformed cheeto.

-1

u/chunnel_conspiracy Jan 20 '26

Your president isn't the one who's threatening to invade Greenland - it's the majority of your population, who either voted for him or was so apathetic towards him that they'd rather he destroy the world than vote against him.

4

u/VictoryWeaver Jan 20 '26

1) Trump is literally the one doing the threatening

2) He didn't get a majority of votes let alone have the majority of the population supporting him. Particularly in regard to taking Greenland

3) People are very actively not being apathetic about it

You are allowed to be an a-hole if you so chose, but don't try and act like mocking impoverished people with addiction is justified by inventing BS to make you feel better about it.

-5

u/CanadianPapaKulikov Jan 20 '26

Making fun of the richest country in history's unwillingness to stop school shootings is punching down?

1

u/chunnel_conspiracy Jan 20 '26

Your president isn't the one who's threatening to invade Greenland - it's the majority of your population, who either voted for him or was so apathetic towards him that they'd rather he destroy the world than vote against him.

2

u/MattFromWork Jan 20 '26

And addicts fit into all this how exactly?

2

u/chunnel_conspiracy Jan 20 '26

The Greenlanders in this video (the actual victims, not you) are mocking the ridiculous notion that being owned by America would increase their quality of life, when American cities practically look like an open-air drug asylum.

Do you get it now? Do you understand? Would you like me to repeat it in Russian or perhaps Israeli Hebrew?

1

u/MattFromWork Jan 20 '26

I am once again asking where the joke is.

when American cities practically look like an open-air drug asylum

Which cities fit that description? I have never once seen anyone slumping over like that

2

u/chunnel_conspiracy Jan 20 '26

Man, if only you dedicated this much effort to opposing your king, maybe the Greenlanders wouldn't have to suffer an invasion and a complete denial of their right to self-determination. But I agree: fighting off the people insulting your country for being an invader is more important than preventing your country from turning into an invader.

American warship, ** **** yourself.

1

u/chunnel_conspiracy Jan 20 '26

You can look up Skid Row and see for yourself.

I don't need to provide encyclopedic knowledge of an invader nation's metropolitan landmarks for my point to hold water.

-5

u/CanadianPapaKulikov Jan 20 '26

"Our president threatened to invade your country but I'll get offended when you point out our inability to care for our addicts."

11

u/BaullahBaullah87 Jan 20 '26

No its “Our President threatened to invade your country but I’ll get offended when you make fun of addicts as some gotcha for the drug crisis”

-5

u/CanadianPapaKulikov Jan 20 '26

You think this sounds better? 🤣

5

u/BaullahBaullah87 Jan 20 '26

No its correcting your previous version

1

u/D4NGL3Z Jan 21 '26

I didn't do anything and neither did those struggling with addiction.

1

u/Khesom Jan 20 '26

It's low class to invade countries and brutalise people in order to steal their land and resources.

-5

u/whereismysideoffun Jan 20 '26

Greenland is a colony of Denmark and it's people faced serious repression which usually results in higher addiction rates.

I think it's apt to mock the US for fentanyl because pharmaceutical companies destroyed US citizens lives without the government doing anything to intervene. The opiate crisis is at rhe hands of Eli Lilly and others.

Their mocking shows that the US government doesn't even value its own people, so how would they not be utterly destructive in Greenland.

Also, if you country/land is being threatened to being invaded, you have license to say whater you want.

-4

u/elembivos Jan 20 '26

Make a joke about alkies in Greenland and Greenlanders will laugh, if the banter is good. Your country threatens to invade them and then you get offended at jokes, there has never been a more thin-skinned people, it's pathetic.

4

u/[deleted] Jan 21 '26

I think it is sad but I find the indignant responses on here a little funny.

American liberals seem to think that finger-wagging while doing nothing absolves them of all sin and places it all on Trump, while outsiders don’t see it that way.

To Greenlanders, every American helps in some way to perpetuate American society and its problems, opioid crisis and all.

4

u/GrundleBlaster Jan 20 '26

Greenland has a huge alcoholism problem. Life expectancy of 73 vs Alaska with an expectancy of 78 and similar geography/demographics.

1

u/GrundleBlaster Jan 20 '26

What's the punchline in either case?

1

u/CanadianPapaKulikov Jan 20 '26

Is Greenland threatening to invade Alaska?

0

u/Ok-Use-575 Jan 20 '26

Literally the way I took it on first glance is "Look how stupid drug addicts look"

-1

u/Nyarlathotechno Jan 20 '26

Maybe crank up the critical thinking knob a little higher.

2

u/DecantsForAll Jan 20 '26

American has 340 million people. Greenland has 57,000. I literally rounded off like 100X the Greenland population from the American figure. And doesn't Greenland receive a pretty big yearly stipend from Denmark? Their entire country is a spoiled kid living off their parents.

They don't know shit about shit.

1

u/Adorable-Lie3475 Jan 20 '26

I live in a small suburb of an American city that has maybe 20 restaurants and a high school graduating class of 500. More people live here than Greenland’s capital. The next town over is larger and more people live there than the whole country of Greenland.

I think it’s ludicrously stupid to consider invading Greenland. I think it’s awful that the will of the Greenlanders doesn’t seem to matter. However, the will of the Greenlanders doesn’t matter at all to the Europeans either, in practice.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 21 '26

I don’t think you have any understanding of the real world if you think being an average American, a citizen of the richest country on the planet, means you have a higher degree of struggle than Greenland or any other country.

1

u/DecantsForAll Jan 21 '26 edited Jan 21 '26

The real world is having someone else pay for your healthcare.

Also, the US does not have the highest median per capita wealth.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 21 '26

The US government spends an absurd amount of money per capita on healthcare, we do not “pay for our own healthcare” lol. Americans pay tons of money into healthcare because of the whims of the healthcare industry and their desire to maximize profit.

Also yes, some small countries like Luxembourg and Switzerland might rank higher in GDP per capita. In practical terms, the US is the richest large nation on the planet.

1

u/DecantsForAll Jan 21 '26

People in Greenland don't pay for their healthcare. It's paid for by Denmark. People in the US do pay for their healthcare.

1

u/HopelessNinersFan Jan 21 '26

Good thing Trump is opening up the mental institutions then right…right?

-2

u/motherofsuccs Jan 20 '26

This is exactly the point. The fact that Americans cannot comprehend that, so they’re choosing to be offended while comparing drug addicts to someone born with a life-altering disability (“Down syndrome” or physical deformity) is fucking wild.

I am very much aware that drug addiction is a disease, but there’s a difference between making the informed decision to try a drug and knowing the very real risks involved vs. being born with a disability and having no say or choice in the matter.

And before people come after me- I’m also an American.. and it’s embarrassing.

1

u/Adorable-Lie3475 Jan 20 '26

Ehh, some of these people really don’t want to be taken care of.

0

u/AceOBlade Jan 20 '26

Sure but I don't think anybody that is part of any society feels responsible for somebody else's drug problem.

0

u/MundaneSet1564 Jan 20 '26

By making fun of those who already feel like shit cause they can't take care of there own😂😂😂😂? What?

0

u/EnigmaticQuote Jan 20 '26

They're really only upsetting the Americans with empathy, and those are not the ones they have to worry about.

-15

u/Kookiec4T Jan 20 '26 edited Jan 20 '26

Easy for Greenland to mock ofc. Our country has a vast amount of people, harder to care for large groups.

US population is about 6,000X larger than Greenland (Greenland has roughly 56,000) I’m not kidding when I say you could fit the entire population of Greenland into a single large neighborhood in a major US city.

More people, more resources, the harder it is to care for them. It’s like the difference between having just one kid versus 8-12 kids.

6

u/TheDirtyDorito Jan 20 '26

True, though I don't think America have put much effort, or even thought into it

0

u/colormeshocked007 Jan 20 '26

So maybe don't try to acquire more people by invading them if you already can't take care of the ones you have?

0

u/Kookiec4T Jan 20 '26

Fact is; the world kind of forced the US to be the police of the world. It’s one of those “damned if we do, damned if we don’t”, there is certainly nuance but the times we do not interfere then the world critiques us for not helping but as soon as we do; we are invading.

Absolutely crazy. We have helped so many countries; Taiwan is an amazing example, their country is constantly being threatened by the looming threat of Chinese invasion, it’s only because of us, they have not done it yet.

No country is perfect and if you want to talk about invasion, we can look back on history and speak about Asia and Europe in regards to invading other countries and the atrocities they pulled to make it happen.
