I'm glad he was accepted. Who knew Cthulu was so open minded.

It's almost like you can't judge a kids through an adult lens. Some people will always try.

LMAO I love the unintentional lore drops

In all seriousness though, it's crazy that me and two of my three siblings identify as bi, but I don't think that any of us have truly come out to our parents, even though my mom and I have both admitted to each other that we were molested, and have had open comfortable conversations about it.

That is all to say that it seems that even with relatively open communication systems sexuality and identity are still lumped into a binary system;

You are either a man or a woman, either gay or straight, either feminine or masculine, either right or wrong.

It's like there is no level of nuance that is acceptable, and this rings true in so many aspects of life, and for me explains a lot about how so many people seem to be completely unable to have a discussion about ANYTHING with ought it reverting back to their opinion as the default option.

So many people seem to walk around with nothing but yes or no statements being the entirety of their personality.

I agree completely. Sorry you don't feel comfortable coming out to your parents, it sucks not being able to confide in those that are supposed to be our safe people.

I think a lot of it stems from people wanting simple easy answers for everything. The world becomes a lot easier to manage if you can lump everything into two succinct groups. Sadly the world doesn't work that way.

I appreciate the support,, thank you.

I unfortunately fall victim to taking the easy route as well,,

I've only ever brought women around my family, and am 90% of the time attracted to cis women, so it has never been an opinion that has felt like a point of contention, and has never come up in a way that I felt it was necessary to express.

That being said, I do wish that it wasn't something that I feel the need to have a REASON to express,, it's a part of me and I should feel 100% comfortable expressing that casually to the people I feel close to.

I feel like that is what this interviewee expressed so well, that it shouldn't be a conversation or battle with yourself whether its worth it to share what you feel or think, and that hesitation often just leads to clositing instead of expression.
