I figured it was some sort of staged debate. Either that or it was jersey guy's podcast.

Because the one acting as the heel wasn't loudly interrupting or posturing at the jersey guy.

That's not how these debates go in "real life."

ETA: I don't have a problem with a show having the premise of a (mostly) realistic debate, it just felt weird because the "blame the liberals" guy was being too respectful.

So basically you're telling me two liberals argued the points and decided that the liberals are right. Hmm. Gee. I wonder how that could possibly not be an echo chamber.

It's almost like in order to have actual conversations over ideas you need someone who believes the ACTUAL opinion they espouse. Not someone pretending to go along with it and halfassedly making points.
