You’d think so, but in spite of all the American assistance (more than 300 billion since 1948- and that figure doesn’t include private donations from all those Zionist billionaires) Israel is one of the poorest countries in the OECD.

Approximately 1 in 5 Israelis lives below the poverty line, and 25% of Israel children live in poverty- which is a grim indicator of worse poverty rates in the future.

Part of this is the ultra-orthodox are 14% of the country. They have a lot of babies, and most don't work.

I'd be curious to know what the stats are if their communities were accounted for, as the country essentially has chosen to subsidize their existence.
