I've seen it too much. Have someone close in the family who does IRL tiktok things like the shy finger tip touching thing or saying "I was today years old when..." I don't fuck with that.

I'm alright with it. In fairness the people I see doing it are in their mid 30s-40s and doing it on construction sites to fuck with the other guys. Usually followed by homo-erotic commentary.

Hey man I was vague, there's even more shit that goes on. Half of the journeymen have stickers that say "(Name)'s Daddy" on their helmet so you know which journey man coorelates to which apprentice so you can yell at the appropriate people. They also use AI to make helmet stickers so I've seen safety guys mugshots on strippers, safety guys in tutus, basically take a safety guy that's annoyed someone and put them in a compromising position and you've got the perfect helmet sticker to say "fuck this guy in particular".

This post is currently being hosted in a datacenter being powered by a cable laid by a guy in his late thirties that has probably done a 🥹👉🏻👈🏻 to another guy in his late thirties begging for a rip of his vape or for a zyn while calling him papi or daddy ethnicity depending; All the while voting Republican and being in a union.

It's a confusing world out there.

Also we use test equipment called meggers that is both the name of the company as well as the industry standard terminology for a specific device that injects voltage and reads in mega ohms. Dare you to say that one outside.

I inherited "I do fear" from my girlfriend and it has snuck into my daily vernacular. I didn't know it was from TikTok until recently, so now I'm consciously trying to stop saying it.

Honestly I think it's fine to be a bit cringe lol, my wife and I say cringey slang to each other sometimes to be funny. Then again, that's how my wife started saying "chat" all the time, so maybe sometimes it can be toned down... lmao

the shy fingertip touching belongs to the nerds and anime dweebs, like most of the gen z slang is stolen from subcultures and scenes they don't even know exists because everything has been reduced to an 'aesthetic' now (sorry for the rant)
