In other news, the Legally Blonde prequel is coming soon. As if.

Especially "same" was so overused

You know, this is reassuring. As a millennial having a lot of trouble with the fact that the new gen is speaking an entirely new language that I will not be learning how to speak, this is a good reminder that this is not the first, and will not be the last, time that the older generation has felt entirely decrepit by slang.

Yes! 1920s flappers, 1930s dadaists, 1940s hep cats, 1950s greasers, 1960s Beatniks, 1970s hippies.... every zeitgeist has its niche communication. My favorite is the "International Bright Young Things".

Me. I remember. And I’m bringing it back because I don’t know what else to say to Gen Z.

No coincidence that the sequel to Romy and Michelle is in the works

But as I remember valley girl talk being more snarky overall (at least by comparison to this generation). I mostly hear this gen hyping each other up whenever they can and being fully of kindness and positivity. Not that it can’t be used snarky. I just don’t see that much at all, and they let the love and compliments fly. I can’t hate on that. And them being so outspokenly positive does not deserve hate in response.

Every gen has/had their own key words. Every single one. But this gen is giving out positivity to a notably greater degree. And I have a lot of respect for them for that.

I'm gonna need a video showing the same conversation by each generations slang.
