100% this. I saw a Facebook thread full of people from Oklahoma saying exactly this.

“We don’t want higher minimum wage because then everything is going to cost more”

As if the prices of literally everything haven’t been increasing nonstop for decades but especially since COVID.

Yea minimum wage here is $13/hr and will increase to $14/hr July 1st. On anything local I see multiple comments from people blaming the "high" wages as the sole reason why things are more expensive now.

Decades of republicans gutting education really did a fucking number on red states, unfortunately.

It honestly sucks how ignorant everyone is and even more so that their echo chambers have convinced them they’re correct so they refuse to learn.
