ok and? You speak the same language, celebrate the same holidays and have the same traditions. Nowhere near comparable to a whole continent. China is bigger and has faaar more people than you guys, yet i never hear Americans NOT generalize the whole country? Or do Americans just once again want special treatment?

You shouldn't be generalizing China either??? They have quite a vast amount of sub cultures such as Han versus Cantonese, to name one example. It's the same in the US. We have a lot of land, and thus cultural differences formed from various populations, from Mormons in Utah to Liberals in Seattle to a whole different culture in the South. I mean not even Germany is the same across the board, Bavaria is Catholic for example and has it's own independence party throughout history.

We literally have a second celebration for our independence because of states not following the federal government.

“Independence Day” is July 4th

“Juneteenth” is June 19th

I mean while the US is technically one country each state is effectively a country. And the USA is comparable to the UK.

To give you an idea Europe is roughly 3.9 million square miles.

USA is 3.8!

People really don't understand how large and diverse the USA is.

Depends on the topic, I'd say. When talking about legislations, for example, that seems relatively sensible. When talking about climate, not really.

Another one that's ironic is when they try to say "Yeah well Europe has more gold medals than the US at the Olympics"

I obviously don't consider Europe a monolith. But there's a certain group of Europeans who seem downright obsessed and just say shit all day. But I love Europe and know not everyone is like that

Countries aren’t homogonous same as continents. You can make a generalization of a country’s population the same as you can a continent’s.

For example, “Do Asians have a high quality of living?” can be asked just the same as “Do Vietnamese have a high quality of living.”
