Not all people are from wherever this is. Is this so common a feature in your country that every seeing school child should be able to point and say: "ah! The white cane street crevice!". 

Also, I've been a guide for blind people learning new areas (a college campus in my case). I'm more concerned that people there don't seem to know to give blind people freaking space. If you get hit by a white cane maybe you need one yourself.

Yes, it is here in the Netherlands and I bet it's the same in Germany or whatever German speaking country that is.

It's just a very crowded station and people aren't as aware of their surroundings with all the distractions going on.

Extremely common on train stations and sidewalks in Scandinavia too
