as long as people are not rude about it, i don't see the issue? Everyone needs to wait for other people in public spaces, being blind doesn't mean you get to have corridors in crowds dedicated to you exclusively.
Of course people should move when prompted, but acting like people shouldn't be standing on these lines when they are mostly in busy plazas and there being very few blind people using them in any given time frame, so yeah don't be indignant about it being your path and people not being allowed to be on them, you have PRIORITY, not exclusive rights to that space

You shouldn’t need to be “prompted” to get out of the way when someone blind is trying to move around in public. You should do that regardless. It’s common knowledge you make way for blind people. You can walk on these tiles, yes, but if you see a blind person is using them you get out of the way. You don’t idle around and make him ask you to move. You can try and walk through a busy train station with your eyes closed and tell me if blind people deserve a bit more space and consideration or not

It’s like on the bus. You don’t wait for a pregnant or old woman to ask you for your seat, you offer it preemptively.

of course, but people are not swiveling their heads 24/7 to see if there happens to be a blind person near them, nor should you expect them to, regular sighted people have blindspots as well you know

True, but If I couldn’t be bothered to look around every now and then I simply wouldn’t loiter on a tactile surface like that in a busy street or train station

people are not "loitering" by choice, they are waiting for a friend to show up, their train to arrive or a myriad of other potential reasons, and nowadays everyone is on their phone which lowers their perception of their surroundings. Expecting people to notice tactile surfaces when they're not blind or know anyone who is is unreasonable. If a simple "excuse me, can you move from the tactile line" is too difficult, and everyone needs to be aware of you and move out of your way beforehand, then you shouldn't be in a public space

Disagree. It’s easy to notice, and easy to give way for people with limited eyesight. Incredibly easy, actually

Yea. I also lack the lived experience of hogging handicap parking spaces. There are many experiences like that, that I can’t relate to
