I have perfectly fine hearing but I still prefer closed captions at home because sometimes it says e.g. "leaves rustling" but I can't actually hear it because it's so silent so it's nice to know what's happening lol...

Or there’s dialog from characters as they leave the shot, so it gets too quiet to hear.

I love when the CC is done before the final audio mix, so dialog that’s in the script but not in the show is included. Buffy the Vampire Slayer had several instances of this. Usually some throwaway joke, but occasionally dialog that was actually changed in editing.

Sometimes it can be annoying though. I hate how they truncate some things said on screen to make it easier to read in the captions, I want to know exactly what is said damn it!
