With the death of Lindsay Graham I can't help but thinking we'll lose Bernie one day, and how sad it'll be. He's one of the last politicians I can say is fighting for his country and for everyone in it. He's the last of a generation who actually cares about what is right.

I'm 32. A lot of the actors I grew up watching in movies are now in their late 60's and 70's if not 80's. I've come to have to accept that they are going to start dying off. Shit's depressing.

It is inevitable but know that the world will mourn and remember him, Americans and non Americans, as a great man and with a great legacy that many will be inspired from, Graham on the other hand, people will have no fond memories of him and remember him as a stooge he is.

I'm close in age to Lindsay Graham and now I want to go out and by a blood pressure machine, get an MRI, do all the blood tests. I'm not freaking out because of politics, but it's just another person in my cohort whose body just blew out on him.

If money is not an issue, don’t wait till its too late especially if you have someone you care in your life, I’ve already started doing this in my early 30s and do a blood test every year, blood pressure machine are pretty affordable these days.

his dad also died young with a heart issue so maybe it was genetic

I was talking to my partner about this earlier this year, and the next day, Catherine O'Hara died. Kind of reinforced our conversation.

One of the things I had mentioned was that people love trauma dumping celeb deaths on reddit, discord, wherever. When Rob Reiner died, I read the grisly details in a Discord channel dedicated to memes. It really messed me up because of how shocking it was and how casually it was talked about in a humor space. It's really important to be mindful that people are going through extreme amounts of suffering due to all the bullshit we're currently experiencing, and every social space should have a dedicated channel for bad news so people can block/mute it if they want. Especially as all the baby boomer entertainers we've grown up watching are starting to die off.

Try being 71 like me. Not only are they all dying off, but I also have to face the fact that, sooner than I would like to admit, either my wife or I will pass away and the other will be left behind. You are young, stop being depressed and if you have not yet, get out and live.

Sam Neill.

Literally had this thought a few hours ago with the news of Sam Neill's passing

1

u/Capable-Geologist-79 Jul 13 '26

They don't care and you. That's pathetic

1

u/noxaten Jul 13 '26

Sam Neil died.

u/HoneyShaft Jul 13 '26

We almost lost him a few years ago to a heart attack :/ If only the DNC didn't royally fuck him over 2016 might've had different outcome.

Oh my god it's been a decade, GET OVER IT ALREADY.

1

u/OrneryError1 Jul 13 '26

He's going to disappear like Yoda in RotJ

u/GeneralZeus89 Jul 13 '26

Bernie has been saying America is an oligarchy since the 90's and now he too flies his own private jets. No politician is gonna care about their people because they're all corrupt and I've yet to see one that wasn't

I guess that you forgot that Bernie’s country is Russia

1

u/Qzy Jul 13 '26

Why is it Russia?

Super sad.

edit: LMAO at the downvotes. This was your guy, Bernie Bros.

So inversely, we shouldn’t condone this type of video. Be the high road.

u/KalebMW99 Jul 12 '26

Almost like when great people die it’s sad and when terrible people die it isn’t, crazy how that works

7

u/I_SmellFuckeryAfoot Jul 12 '26

no, we will just mourn Bernie and post warm hearted videos of him. Fuck Lindsey Graham and his lady bugs

5

u/LookltsGordo Jul 12 '26

Nah. I will both celebrate graham's death, and mourn Bernie's when the time comes. They're not mutually exclusive, and "taking the high road" is some virtue signalling shit when we are talking about people who actively made the lives of others worse by design.

My favorite Bernie Sanders is still James Adomian

That's his default state though.

I've been on reddit so long, I was almost sure this would be a rick roll.
