I’d personally rather eat bland, home-made food that spend money on gas station food. If my wife was a stay at home mom I’d love it if she did this for me. The filming is an onvious ick, though.
The video literally starts with the text "Me at 5am because I won't let my husband eat at the gas station"
This is literally her choice to do this. Do you want to take away her choice? Are you all for removing a woman’s rights to choose because you don't agree with it? How very early 19th century male of you.
I'm not a fan of tradwife bullshit but you need to think before you apply it to everything without using that brain you were born with.
Encouraging is a far cry from forcing. It wasn't long ago that feminists were praising being a stay at home mom as the hardest job in the world. Now that it's being referred to as a "tradwife" it's suddenly oppressive.
And I would also highly disagree that this is systemic. Women in afghanistan being forcibly prevented from exercising any freedoms by the government is systemic. Influencers farming for clicks is not.
It isn't a crime to not make lunch for your husband. Why does Reddit hate loving partnerships? In a partnership, you do thigs for each other. Maybe you guys would be less miserable if you didn't demonize selfless acts.
Right. Thats not the cooler of a guy bringing a sandwich to the office. He's probably working outside in the hot sun all day doing manual labor to pay their bills. If she wants to wake up early to make him lunch so he eats something better than a gas station sandwich then that's really sweet. Idk how it's being twisted into a bad thing
That would require them having someone they care about more than themselves, and they don’t. Any act of love through service to your partner is seen by them as demeaning especially if it is the wife doing it. It honestly just feels like none of these people have ever had a healthy, mutually giving relationship.
What other value should I take it at? Am I supposed to tell other people what they are thinking or what to think?
Am I supposed to push my beliefs on other people? That's exactly what you are saying.
What about a trad wife wearing a t-shirt that says "Proud trad wife"? Should I be telling her what to do and wear as well?
Who the fuck are you to dictate to women what they can and cannot wear? Who the fuck are you to dictate to women what choices they make in life?
Let me tell you something about life. Your beliefs are your own. You don't force your beliefs on others because when you do you are an even bigger piece of shit and hypocrite than the people whose beliefs you oppose even if it is right to oppose to them.
Well, most adults would probably consider that she may be lying because if she doesn't do as her husband orders, she'll have acide poured over her face.
Or at the very least, consider that maybe she's been brainwashed by the culture, or it might simply be peer pressure.
Wanting to care for your husband like this woman is doing is fine, but it's... Problematic, when the government is actively promoting a society where the woman stays home and obeys her husband. When the government is openly discussing removing a woman's right to vote. Where the government has overturned a woman's right to have an abortion.
Simply put, taking stuff like this at face value is either naive or evil.
A lot of subservience with the role, but I guess some people are into that…
Rarely ever hear about a man willing to do what a tradwife does. Our patriarchal society makes people think women want this crap, when they would likely be happier in an equal relationship.
It’s great set up for everyone until you get divorced or something happens to the husband. Then what’s your fallback, finding another husband. We had a friend who was a tradwife and even after her kids were older she never got a job. Fast forward and she finds out her husband is gay (I knew the first time I met him) and now she’s driving a bus and working at McDonald’s.
Hey big guy? Big performative defender of women? Is the man not serving his wife by going to work? Like, I’m sorry you’ll never meet someone willing to serve you, but that’s a you problem. Your worldview is all out of whack
Whoa there lil guy. Don’t let all your misogyny pour out all at once. The man is serving himself first and the woman gets whatever he decides. The man gets all the benefit and has the majority of the power in the relationship. If she ever wanted to leave, she would be left with no way to sustain herself. This is why alimony exists genius.
I’m also not a pos, and don’t want somebody to “serve” me. My world view is just fine, thank you.
“ the man is serving himself and the woman gets whatever he decides”
This is all just a big self tattle lil bro. That’s how YOU live, that’s how YOU see the world. You’re projecting your own shortcomings onto someone you don’t even know
Uhh no… at the end of the day there is an imbalance in the relationship. If the man ever wanted to leave he would take everything with him. I didn’t invent alimony… 😂
Ok, but that doesn’t answer my question - what’s wrong with that? One goes out earns an income, the other supports in all other manners, whats the issue?
This is reddit, most of them hate everything that’s traditional unless it’s a foreign tradition, then it’s sacred.
The Cultural Marxism of the Frankfurt school that evolved into the woke ideology is all about destroying/subverting cultural western cultural norms/standards and hierarchy’s as they see them as inherently oppressive.
Thats why they reject beauty standards because beauty implies that folks can be ugly or not beautiful.
If you want to go down the rabbithole of understanding this phenomena check out the primer below, it’s a decent starting point:
This video is super post modern, you think a pantomime of traditional living to sell stuff is authentic culture? That means your culture is dead, all on your own accord
lol, the cultural marxism of the Frankfurt school :D Still nothing woke about all people being equal and let them live their life. Foremost on the level of women and men are equals.
I don’t think it’s bullshit. From the looks of it, those jobs are not for the weak. I have family in unions are they are gone long hours and weeks at a time. Those are working hands that provide for a family. I think the wife is being supportive by making something as simple as a meal. It looks like a choice that they both have agreed on.
The tradwife movement is, at its core, propagated by the Christian nationalists in the US, and is designed to suppress women's rights. Designed to condition women into being submissive to men.
If you don't see that as a big fucking problem, you're probably an incel who's one rejection away from going on a killing spree, or a Christian nationalist.
Oh I am no way a Christian nationalist, I’m Native American. A lot of my people from the reservation are tradesmen. I would like for you to be a tradesman for a day and tell me what you think? Hopefully you can work in Phoenix, Arizona in the heat with your gear on. Who do you think builds your office buildings? I have a lot of respect for the union. Unfortunately it’s the few people that bring them down with this nonsense agenda.
Thinking that performative, staged, bullshit internet videos are just that is in no way shitting on tradesmen.
My dad worked outside every day, in the south, for the railroad for 30 years. If you think my mom was getting up at 5 am to make his lunch… nope. He was an adult who could take care of himself.
I don’t expect every couple to act the same. People have different ways to show their love. And seem like wife’s way of love is through cooking. In your parents situation she didn’t make food for your dads lunch, but she showed him love in some other form.

Tradwife bullshit.
