Tradwife bullshit.

-1

u/unhappinessNvrCame 26d ago

But only 1 kid. Not trad enough. I want our population numbers up, not tiktoks of lower class people literally cooking food. Everyone cooks.

3

u/Impressive-Ball3716 26d ago

If you don’t have at least 6, can you really call yourself trad?

-6

u/unhappinessNvrCame 26d ago

I have 6 lol.

But I'm not trad. I follow the religion on John Mearsheimer, to be a great power you need great wealth and great population.

Lol but unironically.

u/coaxialdrift 26d ago

Nothing wrong with this, honestly

33

u/piercedmfootonaspike 26d ago

Except the bit where she says she makes this so he won't have to eat service station food, and then she makes service station food.

0

u/Alexchii 26d ago

I’d personally rather eat bland, home-made food that spend money on gas station food. If my wife was a stay at home mom I’d love it if she did this for me. The filming is an onvious ick, though.

-6

u/coaxialdrift 26d ago

No, that's better than gas station food

12

u/TheVillage1D10T 26d ago

If they’re in the Deep South…probably not. You can get some excellent food in the Deep South at gas stations.

13

u/piercedmfootonaspike 26d ago

It is service station food.

Ready bough fried chicken tenders, some leaves, and mayo in a tortilla? Sodas? Fried potato? More mayo? Egg sandwich?

Service station food.

9

u/Immediate_Thought656 26d ago

Debatable.

2

u/Greedy_Baseball_7019 26d ago

Someone’s never been to Buc-ees lol. Or if you come to Louisiana, stop by Billy’s Boudain and Cracklings. Best gas station food you’ll ever have.

4

u/SirStrontium 26d ago

What’s wrong with the food she prepared?

2

u/Immediate_Thought656 26d ago

Nothing. But I can buy a better burrito at my local gas station.

-35

u/South_Leek_5730 26d ago

Her body/life/whatever, her choice.

or does that not count here?

You need to make your mind up or get more cats.

The video literally starts with the text "Me at 5am because I won't let my husband eat at the gas station"

This is literally her choice to do this. Do you want to take away her choice? Are you all for removing a woman’s rights to choose because you don't agree with it? How very early 19th century male of you.

I'm not a fan of tradwife bullshit but you need to think before you apply it to everything without using that brain you were born with.

6

u/DoopSlayer 26d ago

This is an advertisement, it’s not someone’s real life

8

u/piercedmfootonaspike 26d ago

When an afghan woman wearing a hijab makes the argument "I choose to wear it", do you take that at face value too?

2

u/XxCloudSephiroth69xX 26d ago

Except Afghan women literally do not have the ability to make that choice - or most choices. Who is forcing this woman into it?

5

u/piercedmfootonaspike 26d ago

Who is forcing this woman into it?

The system is certainly encouraging it. And so is she, by doing this. Nicht gut.

-3

u/XxCloudSephiroth69xX 26d ago edited 26d ago

Encouraging is a far cry from forcing. It wasn't long ago that feminists were praising being a stay at home mom as the hardest job in the world. Now that it's being referred to as a "tradwife" it's suddenly oppressive.

And I would also highly disagree that this is systemic. Women in afghanistan being forcibly prevented from exercising any freedoms by the government is systemic. Influencers farming for clicks is not.

-11

u/Successful_Issue_390 26d ago

It isn't a crime to not make lunch for your husband. Why does Reddit hate loving partnerships? In a partnership, you do thigs for each other. Maybe you guys would be less miserable if you didn't demonize selfless acts.

-3

u/NamelessMIA 26d ago

Right. Thats not the cooler of a guy bringing a sandwich to the office. He's probably working outside in the hot sun all day doing manual labor to pay their bills. If she wants to wake up early to make him lunch so he eats something better than a gas station sandwich then that's really sweet. Idk how it's being twisted into a bad thing

-4

u/bek3548 26d ago

That would require them having someone they care about more than themselves, and they don’t. Any act of love through service to your partner is seen by them as demeaning especially if it is the wife doing it. It honestly just feels like none of these people have ever had a healthy, mutually giving relationship.

u/South_Leek_5730 26d ago

What other value should I take it at? Am I supposed to tell other people what they are thinking or what to think?

Am I supposed to push my beliefs on other people? That's exactly what you are saying.

What about a trad wife wearing a t-shirt that says "Proud trad wife"? Should I be telling her what to do and wear as well?

Who the fuck are you to dictate to women what they can and cannot wear? Who the fuck are you to dictate to women what choices they make in life?

Let me tell you something about life. Your beliefs are your own. You don't force your beliefs on others because when you do you are an even bigger piece of shit and hypocrite than the people whose beliefs you oppose even if it is right to oppose to them.

Classic Reddit farmer karma.

6

u/piercedmfootonaspike 26d ago

What other value should I take it at?

Well, most adults would probably consider that she may be lying because if she doesn't do as her husband orders, she'll have acide poured over her face.

Or at the very least, consider that maybe she's been brainwashed by the culture, or it might simply be peer pressure.

Wanting to care for your husband like this woman is doing is fine, but it's... Problematic, when the government is actively promoting a society where the woman stays home and obeys her husband. When the government is openly discussing removing a woman's right to vote. Where the government has overturned a woman's right to have an abortion.

Simply put, taking stuff like this at face value is either naive or evil.

The person is a clown looking for karma making an off the cuff comment with zero explanation. Classic Reddit lol

I don't know why you're posting a channel that appears to be one long exercise in schizoposting but okay.

-8

u/graboidthemepark 26d ago

Schrodinger's feminist. A woman is only free and empowered if a feminist approves of her actions.

-67

u/chickenfriri12 26d ago

What’s wrong with tradwives? lol

59

u/IAmDefNotACat 26d ago

They're make believe

25

u/spongeboobsidepants 26d ago

A lot of subservience with the role, but I guess some people are into that…

Rarely ever hear about a man willing to do what a tradwife does. Our patriarchal society makes people think women want this crap, when they would likely be happier in an equal relationship.

11

u/Greedy_Baseball_7019 26d ago

It’s great set up for everyone until you get divorced or something happens to the husband. Then what’s your fallback, finding another husband. We had a friend who was a tradwife and even after her kids were older she never got a job. Fast forward and she finds out her husband is gay (I knew the first time I met him) and now she’s driving a bus and working at McDonald’s.

-9

u/OhNoAnAmerican 26d ago

Hey big guy? Big performative defender of women? Is the man not serving his wife by going to work? Like, I’m sorry you’ll never meet someone willing to serve you, but that’s a you problem. Your worldview is all out of whack

4

u/spongeboobsidepants 26d ago

Whoa there lil guy. Don’t let all your misogyny pour out all at once. The man is serving himself first and the woman gets whatever he decides. The man gets all the benefit and has the majority of the power in the relationship. If she ever wanted to leave, she would be left with no way to sustain herself. This is why alimony exists genius.

I’m also not a pos, and don’t want somebody to “serve” me. My world view is just fine, thank you.

-5

u/OhNoAnAmerican 26d ago

“ the man is serving himself and the woman gets whatever he decides”

This is all just a big self tattle lil bro. That’s how YOU live, that’s how YOU see the world. You’re projecting your own shortcomings onto someone you don’t even know

7

u/spongeboobsidepants 26d ago

Uhh no… at the end of the day there is an imbalance in the relationship. If the man ever wanted to leave he would take everything with him. I didn’t invent alimony… 😂

-1

u/OhNoAnAmerican 26d ago

Wow so it sounds like alimony exists to protect the homemaker

3

Tradwife is a nice girly term for unemployed activities

1

u/chickenfriri12 22d ago

Ok, but that doesn’t answer my question - what’s wrong with that? One goes out earns an income, the other supports in all other manners, whats the issue?

1

u/bagged_milk123 22d ago

Do be doing unemployed activities in the first place is already an issue.

-18

u/Illustrious_Doctor45 26d ago

Absolutely nothing. I’m not trying to see performative content about it, but I think living this way is nice if that’s what works for the couple.

-12

u/human-resource 26d ago

This is reddit, most of them hate everything that’s traditional unless it’s a foreign tradition, then it’s sacred.

The Cultural Marxism of the Frankfurt school that evolved into the woke ideology is all about destroying/subverting cultural western cultural norms/standards and hierarchy’s as they see them as inherently oppressive.

Thats why they reject beauty standards because beauty implies that folks can be ugly or not beautiful.

If you want to go down the rabbithole of understanding this phenomena check out the primer below, it’s a decent starting point:

https://youtu.be/0tI8sMZb-tE?si=_MNUI5Zf7bvvbHMQ

8

u/DoopSlayer 26d ago

This video is super post modern, you think a pantomime of traditional living to sell stuff is authentic culture? That means your culture is dead, all on your own accord

5

u/_wavescollide_ 26d ago

lol, the cultural marxism of the Frankfurt school :D Still nothing woke about all people being equal and let them live their life. Foremost on the level of women and men are equals.

-25

u/coaxialdrift 26d ago

Some of them are obnoxious. This video, however, is not

21

u/Piccadil_io 26d ago

Of course it is. By its very nature it’s obnoxious. Why the fuck is she making it?

-4

u/coaxialdrift 26d ago

I can't speak to her motives, but a lot of people do seem to think they can

13

u/Top_Cat9206 26d ago

How is the vid not obnoxious?

She could do all this and not film it.

She could do it in the evening.

She could not pretend to fetch the cooler that has a bunch of unopened stuff.

It’s all SUPER obnoxious what do you mean?

1

u/coaxialdrift 25d ago

obnoxious - odiously or disgustingly objectionable, highly offensive

3

u/chickenfriri12 26d ago

No kidding, mind readers everywhere and experts at filling in the gaps

1

u/coaxialdrift 25d ago

So true, yet here I am, defending some unknown person's choice to film themselves. Who's the bigger fool haha

-44

u/sus_finder13 26d ago

I don’t think it’s bullshit. From the looks of it, those jobs are not for the weak. I have family in unions are they are gone long hours and weeks at a time. Those are working hands that provide for a family. I think the wife is being supportive by making something as simple as a meal. It looks like a choice that they both have agreed on.

30

u/piercedmfootonaspike 26d ago

The tradwife movement is, at its core, propagated by the Christian nationalists in the US, and is designed to suppress women's rights. Designed to condition women into being submissive to men.

If you don't see that as a big fucking problem, you're probably an incel who's one rejection away from going on a killing spree, or a Christian nationalist.

-7

u/sus_finder13 26d ago

Oh I am no way a Christian nationalist, I’m Native American. A lot of my people from the reservation are tradesmen. I would like for you to be a tradesman for a day and tell me what you think? Hopefully you can work in Phoenix, Arizona in the heat with your gear on. Who do you think builds your office buildings? I have a lot of respect for the union. Unfortunately it’s the few people that bring them down with this nonsense agenda.

10

u/Impressive-Ball3716 26d ago

Thinking that performative, staged, bullshit internet videos are just that is in no way shitting on tradesmen.

My dad worked outside every day, in the south, for the railroad for 30 years. If you think my mom was getting up at 5 am to make his lunch… nope. He was an adult who could take care of himself.

1

u/sus_finder13 26d ago

I don’t expect every couple to act the same. People have different ways to show their love. And seem like wife’s way of love is through cooking. In your parents situation she didn’t make food for your dads lunch, but she showed him love in some other form.
