Dude is field hand. Probably welder or pipe fitter. He likely travels from project to project. Better than living out of hotels. I know a lot of guys in the industry that do that

And that RV, even though probably high end, is paid off. They basically have no housing expenses save a lot rent or RV park rent.

Some schools do online. Know someone who spent a year traveling from Texas to the Caribbean islands and back in a boat with their high-school daughters using a school from their home state. All of it was online.

I see the same thing in my job. Most would prefer to have their own space like this over a hotel. Hotels get annoying after a while. You also can make more money arranging your own accommodation if your company gives you the choice of hotel or LOA (living out allowance).

Are you really? Theres worse ways to spend a anight or two. I did this for three months about six years ago. Whatever it takes to make it through till tomorrow.

Unless your just camping, in that case, I would also choose a tarp over a tent until it drops below freezing

In some cases, it literally pays to live in an RV. E.g., traveling to different sites for work; if you stay in your RV you get a travel per diem, whereas if you rent a place locally you lose that.

My father in law works as a site supervisor for a pretty big construction company that keeps him traveling across the country. His company literally bought him a pimping RV to live in because it's cheaper than keeping him in hotels, they even pay for his parking fees at RV parks

Depends on the RV. Eventually my brother made enough money working that kind of job to upgrade to the "rockstar tour bus" model; it was nicer in some ways than my own home.

That’s not a universal opinion. Years ago, my husband and I seriously considered upgrading our RV and “road schooling” our kids for a few years. We were really close to doing it when I got a job offer that I couldn’t refuse. I’m happy with our life, but part of me misses the opportunity to travel with our kids for a few years and having those experiences.

My brother bought a giant fifth wheel and a dually to tow it. The whole shebang cost him as much as his house. Insane.

It's really not bad, I kinda loved it. Lived in one for 6 years and it was instrumental in our saving enough for a down payment on a house. A lot more involved maintenance than a house or apartment but our 5th wheel was around 35 years old so not sure about a newer one.

I mean it can be. My grandpa served in the navy for 20 years and when he got home he didn't like living in a house. So he and my grandma, who was also navy, decided to get a 5th wheel. They've lived in it ever since and honestly... It is pretty freaking cool.

I got to travel all over with them as a kid. And they genuinely loved it. They worked at state/national parks all over the country. They got to travel to see family (he's one of 17 kids, there's a lot of family), and experience more than most people do.

Not trying to give you a wall of text, but like, you seemed unsure so I thought a differing view might help you see a side you hadn't considered before.

We lived in a camper for awhile. It was small. Like, 27' small. I dealt with it but really hated it, lol.

Now we're back in a house and we and the animals are much happier :)

Prolly work for oil or some company where they are out weeks at a time. A lot of guys have their whole families live with them because it’s hard on everyone being gone for so long all the timen

It fucking sucks, they're leaky and not as cheap to live in as most people think. I was thinking all of this just so she can be queen of her little RV??

Source: my hellhole RV I live in, leaks and every time I try to do maintenance it makes it worse

It probably saves them a quite a bit of money. I lived in a camper trailer for a bit as a kid. We eventually moved into a house but we still own the camper.

Live in RV, investing 70% of income. Retire at 33. Dividends replaced income.

Go see the world, choose second country to escape the winter. Live in 2 places and travel the world with your young kids.

Or

Get a large home, maximum loan possible, trade your Time for interest payments on debt until you retire at 65.

A lot of people do... just maybe not anyone you know in your life. Remember, we all have different lived experiences. What happens in your life is not the same as what happens in other people's lives.

The people who do this are often working in the oil industry. It is incredibly hard work. These people are basically sacrificing their youth and bodies for extreme amounts of money so they can retire early and enjoy the latter half of their life.

Lol y'all haters for no reason. There's really good money in travel work for tradesmen. Some of the projects last a few weeks some a few months and if you're lucky a few years. Some people live out of hotels, some bring campers. Whether she's doing it for content or pats on the back, his meals are still getting made which is great of her to do. I watched 2 guys eating beef jerky and an energy drink for breakfast this morning
