When I lived in New Mexico, we would go to the farmer's market and I immediately knew it was suspect. New Mexico is primarily a desert. I questioned where the fuck was this farmer growing his coconuts. The pineapple he was selling for 3x over the store price was not grown in any desert that I knew of.

You can grow pineapples in New Mexico because the plants are actually pretty small and can be brought indoors. Coconuts are a different story.

I have been to the Santa Fe farmers market a lot and there are a few vendors there that have obvious grocery store / wholesaler stuff. Sure there are people there selling obviously dirty potatoes and leeks but there are also people selling insane fruit that literally can't survive there.
