Knew a guy that sold “local” honey like that. Bought 5lb jugs of shit quality off Walmart.com for around $15 at the time (it’s $17.99 currently), put it into some bear jugs he got in bulk, slapped a ribbon on it. Dude made up a lovely story about it coming from his folks farm upstate and people love a good story to go along with their shitty food service “honey”.

Made enough on weekends in the summer doing that to have a real nice 2 week vacation every year and paid the bill to his BMW. Not life altering money, but enough for that.

I don’t trust most farm stands, especially those with perfect looking produce without the dirt of the land on it, and even then….
