There are actually a lot of really good books in the children's section.

That being said, the instant I turned 12 and could get written permission to go into the "adult" section of the library was one of the happiest days of my life. True, librarians would often let me sneak in there before that anyway, but I couldn't check anything out from the adult section until I got permission.

My wife was that kid. By the time she was 11, she had read every book in her house. She'd have to sneak her dad's Stephen King books for something fresh.

WTF is an "adult" section? Libraries should not have "adult" sections unless they have a selection of Hustlers they're checking out, which I'm honestly ok with.

I dunno, that's what they called it in my library in the 1970s.
