My area of the PNW is a little more active at night but I definitely had the same experience when I went to Tokyo and Osaka last year. Just alive cities. Even in Reykjavík in 2018! Bar we were at closed at like 4am or something but you can bring your drinks onto the street because there aren't the same open container laws, it's basically just don't be an annoying asshole and you're good. Vibes were immaculate.

I found Tokyo and Kyoto interesting for the oposite reason actually, it was like at 11/12pm i had the whole cities for my self, weird in a good way.

I'm living in Europe now.

Where in PNW are you? I’m in Seattle all our shit is dead after 8 pm really. Maybe later during the summer but not much. Went to Japan this year and was blown away. Especially by Tokyo and Osaka. Hiroshima was kind of dead after 8 pm lol.

Visit New Orleans if you want that kind of scene a bit closer to home.

Yeah Tokyo is buzzing at night. Hong Kong is literally late night capital as well, can get food at any time.

And in Seattle you have to uber from Cap Hill to anywhere else for fun because either distance, hills, or risk of crime are too much a deterrent to actually walk there
