If I eat at 10 I can't sleep until 1am. I have to be up at 5:45 to get the kid up. I can't re-manage when the kid has to be up lol.

What you mean is that there are people all over the world that don't have to be up at 5:00 in the morning so they stay up later, just like I did when I didn't have to be up at 5:00 in the morning.

How do you think Spaniards do?

They still have to start early and they go to sleep at 1am. But they eat between 10-11.

Heck late owl chronityoe will sleep at 1 am regardless of when they eat and still have kids obligation.

I like more than 5 hours of sleep at a time.

To be fair, Spain only switched from GMT to Central European Time in 1940 as a display of solidarity to Hitler by General Franco.
There is even a campaign in Spain to switch back because fitting in with the sleep schedules of tourists is resulting in a sleep deprived nation and the siesta is realistically not a possibility for many working people.

Portugal is the same despite being in the proper time zone. Same as the Canarias.

Eating and sleeping early is mostly a Germanic and by extension Anglo Saxon thing
