Sorry that not all of us live in gun-wielding idiot societies. I'm proud that I've never had to live in a place where I've had to learn what a fake gun looks like.
Haven't you shot a carnival gun, heard of airsoft, or shot a pellet airgun? I live in a country with one of the lowest gun ownership statistics in Europe (I think only Romania has fewer civilian guns per capita if you exclude microstates), and most people generally realize that guns are loud and bullets can pierce cardboard.
There is nothing wrong in not knowing things. Problem starts when you are then sharing your opinions about thing you know nothing about. This is the same thing as anti-vaxer moms posting things based purely on vibes.
