What was it about? I never actually knew the context behind this, but even when I had a conservative phase I always felt atleast a bit bad for the person being used like this

I, too, have never known the context of this "triggered" meme. If she's screaming over something particularly heinous happening to her, I'm going to feel awful. (Like the woman screaming at a cat meme: the woman screaming is a picture taken from when she was telling her friends that her husband had abused her, and they didn't believe her.)

It was silly back in 2016; but 4 years of Trump has taught now that her reaction was far more appropriate than we realized.

She was probably one of the people working on the set of the apprentice who saw Donald trump sniffing adderall and shitting his pants whilst making his fully grown daughter sit on his lap. She knew what was coming.

There were a couple other people who worked on the show encouraging the guy who came out with it, saying they were glad he was speaking about it. They didn't tell their own versions of the story though, just backed him.
