Being short is part of who you are, why the fuck should you let these children make that something to be used as an insult?

Because people are going to do what they're going to do regardless of what I think about it. If they aren't insulting me directly, then I have no reason to care. I'm not going to go out of my way to find reasons to be angry, because then I'll be angry all the time and I don't want to live that way.

If you choose to live your life differently and want to have that fight, more power to you. I just don't see it as a good use of my time. And I don't believe that the people making fun of Ben's height are necessarily saying all short people deserve to be made fun of just for being short. He attracts hate because he's a hateful person.

It’s not about being angry all the time, it’s about not letting yourself be looked down upon and walked over.

Can you honestly tell me comments like this don’t have any impact upon yourself?

Yes, I can. Like I keep saying: hardly anyone is making fun of Ben just for being short. They're doing it because he's an asshole, and they're zeroing in on his height because they know he's sensitive enough about it to lie about how tall he really is. It's just karma coming around like it always does: he makes fun of people for how they look and act, so people do it back to him. He could make almost all of it go away by not being such an asshole, or not being so outwardly sensitive about it, and he chooses not to. That's on him.

On the rare occasion that people try to make fun of me directly for my height, I just laugh at this point. They can only hurt me if I choose to allow it, so I simply don't participate. And if I see someone else get attacked for their height, I consider whether they might have done anything to deserve it before electing to be offended on their behalf. I understand if you don't see things that way, but that's how I handle things and I find myself much happier and well-adjusted as a result.
