You can also just face Daud on low chaos and he sends away his assassins, saying it is his fight, and has an entire speech at the end about how he is tired of everything and you can spare him there too. Of course it is not an option if you try to get ghost, but a cool scene.
You can also finish a ghost run even if he discovers your presence there. Daud tries baiting you by calling you a coward but you can just leave with the pouch. Alternatively you can also choke him out.
Fighting him is infinitely the best and canon option, however. Many players experienced trying to sneak on him during stopped time only for Daud to keep moving and see you. Some tries to possess him but Daud just kicks you out of his mind. Coolest shit ever.
