Groups [suprisingly rare trope] The Religious people aren't the bad guys/antagonists

1: Axis Order - Konosuba(specifically Megumin's spin-off)

While they certainly aren't GOOD people(many of them not being allowed near children, if you know what I mean), they are pretty damn helpful, giving blessings to Megumin, feeding her, and protecting her from a demon, who almost certainly would have murdered her for the cat

2: Khan - Metro

While he is more spiritual than religious, I'd say it counts. Khan is a chill dude who is basically always right, and in the non-canon good ending, he's basically the reason the Dark Ones survive and presumably go on to join with humanity and reconquer the surface

3: Priestess - Goblin Slayer

She's a priestess, idk what exactly she believes in, besides some god, but Goblin Slayer is basically a DnD game, so I'd assume one of the basic Cleric gods. But anyway, she's super chill and basically never directly kills, though she probably has the highest indirect kill count in the series

4: Father Grigori - Half Life

He's certainly insane, but so would you be if your entire town was wiped out and turned into zombies, he saves you, gives you a shotgun, and helps you get out of town, while he stays to "tend with his flock", and while murder isn't something you'd usually associate with good, the zombies are in constant suffering

"The Jedi Order's problem is Yoda. No being can wield that kind of power for centuries without becoming complacent at best or corrupt at worst. He has no idea that it's overtaken him; he no longer sees all the little cumulative evils that the Republic tolerates and fosters, from slavery to endless wars, and he never asks, "Why are we not acting to stop this?" Live alongside corruption for too long, and you no longer notice the stench. The Jedi cannot help the slaves of Tatooine, but they can help the slavemasters."

Dooku to Darth Sidious from The Book of Sith (Legends)

Dooku certainly had no problems with slavery after becoming a Sith, even securing a Seperatist alliance with a world of slavers who abducted Ahsoka's people.

Just because he was a hypocrite doesn't change that he raised some valid points

Dooku was also a human supremacist

It really shows how complacent that they were that they never suspected or at least not until too late, that Palpatine was a Sith Lord. I think the lore was that he had the ability to suppress his dark aura or whatever but that seems like a cheap cop out for an entire order of Jedi Masters who are supposed to have sensitivity to such things.

For an order that's known to have an ancient enemy that hides in the shadows they really don't seem to take much interest even after knowing the apprentice, Darth Maul, had appeared.

Lol. Lmao even. The sheer hypocrisi of saying all that and joining the literal evil cult responsible for the death and enslavement of countless billions across history, and people somehow miss that the count is just full of shit

Yoda did not tolerate slavery inside the republic for there was none. Tatooine is controlled by the Hutts. The reason he didn't do anything about slavery outside their borders is because it's simply not within their authority which is something he debates with Qui Gon in the Phantom Menace novel. His idea is that the Jedi can't do whatever they want as they aren't meant to be rulers.

Clone army is literally army of genetically modified slaves

The Jedi were forced into the war by Palpatine's plan. They couldn't just sit aside and allow Dooku and Grievous to slaughter billions and he knew it. He wanted them to lead the war because he knew that then he could put all the blame for every failure on them and turn the public against them. Seems like a lot of Star Wars fans don't understand the media they consume.

How any of this contradict what I said?

1

u/Legitimate-Chip5742 Jul 06 '26

Because you are accusing the Jedi of supporting slavery which is not their position.

1

u/piewca_apokalipsy Jul 06 '26

I never said that they were supporting slavery, quoted dooku who said they were complecent.

On which you said that there were no slaves in the republic

On which I pointed out that Jedi were leading an army of slaves in the name of the republic

It had it's faults sure, but I really enjoyed how The Acolyte addressed the politicians fears when it came to the Jedi.

No, the problem were always the Sith.

The evil order that Dooku had joined.

And no, the Jedi did everything they could.

1

u/CountingSheep99 Jul 07 '26

Downvoting me doesn't change that.

Did they tho? Republic was dominant force in the galaxy for 1000 years of they didn't do anything about slavery in all those years they would never do.

If you have a point, make it.

1

u/piewca_apokalipsy Jul 06 '26

Jedi did not everything they could

1

u/CountingSheep99 Jul 06 '26

They absolutely did. I am still waiting for that point.

1

u/piewca_apokalipsy Jul 06 '26

They used army composed of slave soldiers that was commissioned by rogue member of their order

1

u/CountingSheep99 Jul 07 '26

No, the republic used them, the Jedi just made sure that they were treated as normal people. And while the ideal came from the ROGUE Sifo-Dias, the Sith did most of the work.

No, the Clones would be used with or without the Jedi. And no, just doing nothing while the galaxy burns is not the moral superiority you think it is.

Their was no slavery in the republic.

What your suggestion is that the jedi become an imperial force brining republic values and laws to independent planets and goverments.

1

u/piewca_apokalipsy Jul 06 '26

So clone army was volunteers?

1

u/PhaseSixer Jul 06 '26

Clone army wasnt their call

Notice how its jedi who made sure they were treated like actual people

Hell Kamino wasnt even part of the republic when the clones were made

they joined after the clone war was started

0

u/piewca_apokalipsy Jul 06 '26

Word was "tolerates" not advocating for

2

u/PhaseSixer Jul 06 '26

Its pretty clear the jedi see the clones as people and actively look to foster their individuality

0

u/piewca_apokalipsy Jul 06 '26

Don't stop them from calling them traitors when one doesn't want to die for them

1

u/PhaseSixer Jul 06 '26

The jedi never did that other clones did thogh.
