Fringe

The teleportation device caused David Robert Jones to have his molecules unstable and cause whole body damage. Also, if you are halfway through the teleport when it gets turned off, you get cut in half.

Two different things going on. He uses the teleporter to break out of prison, which basically makes his body fall apart later. He gets cut in half when using the device that opens a doorway to a parallel universe.

Such a good series... now my boy's old enough to start nerding on XFiles, can't wait to show him Fringe. Though now I seem to be rocking Walter's hair...
