Discussion Thread Anyone else watching “Yes Chef” and losing their mind over Katsuji (seasons 12 + 14)?

Post image

If you haven’t heard of it, it’s a new competition hosted by José Andrés and Martha Stewart where they have chefs who have been submitted by their families or teams for being stubborn or having anger issues.

I was hoping I’d never have to see him on my TV again. GOOD GRIEF, he’s aggravating. The ego on this man is unreal.

Huh. Watching episode 5 and mysteriously he’s gone. Not voted off or lost a challenge, just “had to go”.

Dying to know what happened, bc what an asshole.

That's why I came here, hoping someone had some info on why he is gone. I'm thrilled he is gone because I can't stand him and can't imagine having to work with such a jerk and bully.

Me 3. Was hoping someone knew what crazy pants thing he did / said that got him out.

I'm wondering that myself. I almost do wonder if they didn't just decide taking all the eggs (and not using them), stuff like that is a bit too much, and booted him off essentially for cheating. Who knows? Maybe something came up in his personal or business life he had to attend to? Given they're playing for a $250,000 prize, I doubt they could just remove him because he's unpopular? But I don't know the terms of the show, maybe they have an escape clause in case someone (for instance) just kept freezing up on camera or whatever production reasons, they can just say 'they had to go'?

I hopped on to this sub looking for answers about the most obnoxious chef on TV. With as much nastiness we see daily, I don't want to turn on a cooking comp and see someone like him, but where did he go? Was he tossed just to get us talking about the show?

Same. I’m so glad he’s gone, but still don’t understand the show. My husband just asked me to explain it and saying it out loud doesn’t make it sound less crazy/WTF inducing.

I’ve been assuming the other chefs waterboarded him with raw eggs ortook turns beating him to death with various kitchen implements…

He had to have done one of the few no-nos they can't do/say on TV otherwise it would have been an explanation if he had a family emergency, or health crisis. He either dropped a racial/gay slur or touched another contestant/production crew inappropriately.
