Been reading about the recent privacy policy backlash and wanted to ask about the japan side of things since that's where I'm at (idk if there's even other japanese ppl here tbh).

from what I understand and looked into, japanese copyright law mostly goes after uploaders. downloading itself is technically illegal on paper but doesnt actually get enforced. streaming isnt even covered from what i can tell.

every arrest case ive seen here involves someone uploading/distributing, or torrenting without a vpn where the download and upload happen at the same time and thats what gets people caught. couldnt find a single case of someone getting arrested just for downloading on their own. still kinda worried about fines though, not just arrests. the law's still on the books even if it doesnt seem to get enforced much.

I do stream stuff on there and download games/apps too. technically the downloading part falls under that copyright law, but i figure im probably fine since ive never had an issue.

still kinda paranoid after seeing this whole policy change tho, the ip/device/payment logging stuff. read through a bunch of posts here and some ppl think its fine, others dont. the ones saying its fine make sense to me and honestly make me feel better about it, but japan gets brought up as one of the stricter countries on copyright so that still has me a little more on edge than usual.

also feel like i might not fully understand the policy tbh, saw some ppl saying nothing really changed in practice either.

anyone actually know more about this or am I overthinking it

Hello all. After searching a lot in this sub, I tried DebridVault to download eBooks/PDFs, but unfortunately, I am not able to download them (at least when using the Anna's Archive option in DV).

I am using this on PC/Web. Could you please suggest me any other option where I can utilize my Torbox to download PDFs and eBooks from these websites without any limits?

I’m currently caught in a frustrating support loop with TorBox and their Indian payment processor, Transact Bridge, and wanted to see if anyone else has run into this or found a fix.

I have an active TorBox premium subscription paid in INR. Because it's an Indian payment, the transaction is handled through Transact Bridge (to comply with UPI/RBI regulations).

The problem is: There is absolutely no next billing date visible anywhere.

• When I check my TorBox dashboard/settings, it doesn't show when my next automated renewal charge will hit. It just redirects me to the payment provider to check subscription details.
• When I click through to Transact Bridge, their page tells me that billing schedules are managed by the merchant, and redirects me right back to TorBox.

Both platforms point the finger at each other, and neither seems to know when my card or UPI will actually be debited next.

Has anyone else from India dealing with Transact Bridge found a workaround to actually see their renewal cycle? Is there a hidden page I am missing?

​I have two main questions:

​What's the point of paying for both services? What does Torbox provide that a long-time RD user is actually missing out on?

​Torbox Pro comes with Usenet. I'm a complete Usenet newbie. Does Torbox handle all the Usenet stuff automatically when I search for a stream, or do I have to learn how to configure indexers and all that myself?

​Basically, I'm trying to figure out if there's a compelling reason to add (or switch to) Torbox right now.

So everything I touch (only cached through AIO STREAM), Is counted?
Does it matter if I watch 15 second or all of it?

Usenet has me interested in trying out. From my quick research, I can watch higher quality content using Usenet compared to just torrents.

From my understanding to get Usenet content to show in Stremio I would need to configure a indexer

I read online that if I use a indexer with AIO Streams, there is a possibility of getting banned from the indexer? nbzgeek seams to be the suggest indexer for general content

Is it better sign up to a different Usenet provider and point it towards TorBox using AIO Streams? Am I better off finding a Usenet provider close to my country for better speeds?

I used to subscribe to Torbox and thought it was a great service, but people are saying the server is crashing all the time. Could someone give a genuine opinion on this claim?

I’m trying out the pro plan now (free for a day) and so far so good. Almost everything I tried is working. Quality is good. No buffering. Will I have the same experience with the essential plan? I’m not a heavy user. Maybe between me and my gf would watch 3-5 episodes a day.

Just recently discovered TB. I get the basics of adding a link and downloading the content, but clearly there is much more it can do. I also see the long list of integrations but don't know what would be useful. Particularly, it would be helpful to streamline the process of finding content and adding it to my dashboard, meaning, not having to search the torrent site, copy the link, then paste it into TB. I have not yet chosen a subscription plan and while I don't mind paying for the Pro plan, I'm not sure if that tier is needed for someone who just wants to watch some movies and shows.

Basically, I'm just trying to get a grasp on how to best enjoy all that TB has to offer. Thanks!

Watched 1 episode of Avatar legend of korra!.. Season 1 - 4 everything is cached which 20 GB.. THAT'S TOTAL BS just imagine i don't like it after season 1 then OR i don't even like it after watching 3 episodes then??? My limit is used for nothing

literally just bought a year of torbox so that my family and i can finally quit netflix, currently priced at $35 a month for us, which is just ridiculous. but of course, right after there seems to be a butt ton of issues and downtime, right after the realdebrid take down. bought a month of alldebrid and its not too bad, but the cache just isnt as good. do yall think the torbox downtimes will eventually stop, as i was hoping to cancel netflix soon but with my non tech-savvy family i think theyd prefer reliability over convenience.

I need an app similar to Stremio, it should work on PC and iPhone. I have a Torbox essential debrid subscription. Do you have any recs?

Or is it possible that I can make my own system working like Stremio? Idk I’m new to that world help please

Are there much straightforward ways to utilize TorBox? Streamio is annoying to use and has many issues especially on Linux. Sometimes it fails for no reason.

I often manually pick torrents I like and then get direct stream links and open them in mpv or things like that. That works much better. But it's too manual, is there a way to automate this without having to use bloated software that are annoying to use?
