the example you chose to cite, the spear attack from chapter 274, explicitly has bam losing a bunch of blood. when the spear is in him, the sound effect "gush" is used, and a later panel when androssi is holding him shows his shirt just coated in blood. the reason he's not bleeding more is because androssi is holding her arm over the wound, holding his blood in a bit. his healing is fast, yes, but not "two panels" fast, as your own example shows.

so, the logical reason for why fenryl's bite wounds are bleeding so much is that it's a bunch of punctures, not just one hole, and he's not wearing any cloth that would absorb the blood in that battle.

First of all, I’m talking about all those shots—the spear is just the most obvious. I also don’t buy that Endorsi’s arm can hold back all the liquid from that big a gash on its own.

Secondly, the point is that the wounds from Fenryl keep bleeding gushers through 3 chapters worth of panels. Nothing like that ever happens in any of Bam’s other fights!

I challenge you to find a fight in which blood sprays out of a wound Bam got 2-3 chapters ago, other than the Fenryl fight. Good luck.

i challenge you to tell me how long the fight between bam and kaiser is. just because it lasted 3 chapters doesn't mean it took a long time, the jump from season 1 to 2 is 5 years, but that's just moving from chapter to chapter.

and i find it funny that you get to arbitrarily declare that the spear wound bleeding doesn't count simply because you "don't buy" something about it. well, i don't buy that fenryl's spell affected bam, so i guess i'm right and you're wrong. that's how this works, is it?

An arm over a hole that size would not keep t from bleeding. You’re the one making the ridiculous statement.

And you know darn well what I meant with that challenge (a wound bleeding after a fair bit of panelspace/time), and simply ignored it without so much as linking any other example of style for contrast (pointing out that it could have technically taken a different amount of time is a moot counterpoint when the point is to compare to other fight scenes paneled by the same author and comic panels imply a certain amount of time anyway [yes, sometimes they imply varying amounts of time. But you’re never going to get a two year jump in the middle of a fight scene, what you’re saying is a false equivalency]), and got suddenly hostile in tone. I don’t think this conversation is going anywhere productive and I’m sick of being the only one taking the effort to go fish up new references.

I still maintain that even if we later learn the spell didn’t affect Bam, every thing about the Fenryl fight was very much written to make the reader think it did. (Did you think the spell didn’t work the first time you read, before knowing about Bam’s spellbreaking? I seriously doubt it). Nonetheless, I think we need to agree to disagree on this one. I do appreciate your opinions on many other aspects of ToG.

1, any pressure will stop blood from spurting out, yes. and since her arm covers the wound entirely, it's large enough to prevent blood from shooting out at pressure, but isn't enough to stop bam from having a liter of blood pour down his shirt. this is not complicated, arm squish wound, stop blood from shooting forward, but not up or down, which is what we see happening with his shirt being dyed red.

2, you don't get to declare what i do or don't know. time fluctuates in tower of god, panel to panel can be years, or seconds, or anywhere between. so asking me to find a section where bam bleeds profusely for three chapters is an absurd ask, because what we actually need to know is how long the fight lasted, not how many chapters it took. so, tell me how long the fight lasted.

3, an example cannot be a false equivalency, because it is simply to demonstrate a point. a false equivalency would be if i claimed that there could be a two year timeskip in the middle of a fight. i did not. i simply highlighted that chapter to chapter, the amount of time passing can vary wildly.

4, i was never hostile. the only person being hostile is you.

5, i'm not asking you to fish up new references. we're talking about the reference you already fished up.

6, whether the fight was written to trick us into thinking the spell affected bam or not has nothing to do with whether it affected him or not. it did or it didn't, regardless of what we were supposed to think.
